Most notable changes I see so far is that the MY19 will have the Head-Up-Display?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You could be right
Both NZ and Czech are listing Heads Up Display on the latest Tiguan
For NZ, Heads Up Display only comes with the R-line Package

Some in Czechoslovakia are reporting that the 162 motor has gone and the (I presume) 169 motor 220hp to 230hp is now to be used which I have mentioned here before but was assured from others that this would not happen. It only makes sense because VWA have dropped the 162 for emission reasons so the Tiguan would get the same motor for the same reasons.

Given they’re the same internally and given what’s occurred to the Golf GTI and Octavia where the 169 was dropped, I think it’s as likely to step to the 180kw version if it changes at allMY14 MK VII GTI | Pure White | Manual | Bi-Xenons (his)

You may be right
Spoke to a dealer and they seem hesitant to release any info on the MY19
Maybe if they tell people the MY19 is coming out with a more powerful engine at the same price ALL sales of existing Tiguan will stop
I spoke separately to VW Australia and they said it was strange that no MY19 details have been released yet
Though they did say MY19 Specs are due for Release on 30 June so dealers and can place MY19 orders on 1 July

This is a recent (May) statement from VW with regard to WLTP. It would seem that some VW engines are not yet compliant, and could explain why some engines are not available to order at the moment
Frank Welsch: Volkswagen R&D boss -
“The problem is not having the technical solutions but what you have to have before [certification]. By 1 September, everything needs to be fixed, done and certified. That’s all of our portfolio, and our portfolio is big. We’re not prepared for new certification for all of our cars in one year, with access to test benches, equipment, wind tunnels and so on, and it’s the same for our suppliers.
Now it’s all in a couple of months. We need more time, more test benches, more people at the [test] authorities.
“Some engines will not be available for two months or so. We have solutions but not the tests available. So in some cars, we will not have all the engines. Technically, there is no problem.”

Highline / R-line: Power (k) 230 hp; Power (kW) 169 kW
Czech catalog states the same (page 17)
However, having said that, diesel has increased from 140kW to 176 kW
The Czech site does offer HUD in the equipment list ... but I would much rather have Wireless Charging over HUDLast edited by FastMitch; 29-06-2018, 07:26 PM.

But in the interim, Wireless Charging solves the issue of just placing your phone on the charging mat for trips where you don't need to use Android Auto, especially if your phone is low on battery
That for me would be 70% of the time where I am travelling to places I don't need to use Google Maps
