I am not so fond of these wheels on a white CS with all those black details and the black front badge, looks too aftermarket, in not a nice way for my like...

Regardless, those Michelin decals are purely horrible. I'd take a stock car/look any day over that specific car in the vid.

Each to their own I guess, that's what makes the world wonderful.

Also...I will be putting new rims and tyres on my clubsport when it arrives.

I was wondering if there are people that are interested in buying "almost new" Pirelli P-zero tyres off the stock rims? 225 35 19?

I am thinking of selling the "new-ish" stock tyres and putting the stock rims into storage? Any thoughts or ideas?

That's an awesome deal, best I got was $55k with roof. The finance with VW can probably be beaten tho. Just make sure you read all the dets, fees etc.

Where are all the 40yrs? I drive from one side of Sydney to the other almost every day and have been on the lookout since I put my order in but haven't spotted a single one, I've become quite the golf trainspotter but still no 40yrs. Must be quite a few still to be delivered, like mine. I've gotta say it does make me feel like it will be a little special when I finally pick it up.

Pure thought hypothesis but say

500 across Australia
-100 manuals
-100 to 200 or so maybe that haven't been delivered / still at dealerships .
- Maybe 2/3 of remaining delivered outside of Syd Metro ?
- Maybe 1/3 are probably secondary cars for enthusiasts sitting mostly in garages

So maybe 50 out of ~3 million cars in Sydney

How many Wolfsburgs were there? I see plenty of these. Seems these were snatched up quicker. Most people will go for an R before even considering an ED40. It's for pure enthusiasts.

Yep I'm with you Vagabond, this will be my first GTI, I'm coming out of a BT-50 (now the family weekend truckster) I've been looking at cars for the past 12 trying to decide on what to buy next and I've looked at everything from SSV Commodores, S3's, M235i's, WRX's Hyundai Velosters and everything else in between, originally wanted the Ford RS when it came out but couldn't wait that long and hated the interior. In the end the 40yrs ticked more boxes than any other car FOR ME and when I test drove it I knew I had found the car I wanted.
