I've contacted George some weeks ago and said they'll make an announcement once testing is complete. Is there any news that it's going to be out this month? Good thing is that power gains are identical to the Golf R, and with 100kg less and such a great chassis, I can't imagine what a machine it'll be with 370ps/500Nm

Hi Thomas,

We have developed the unit for the Clubsport recently and are just doing some mileage on the two test cars. We expect release Mid September for the clubsport.

Here is a dyno using 98RON fuel, power is at the wheels with both runs done on overboost.

I had seen that graph, George posted it on some forums already that's why I said great gains.

Although it can't possibly be at the wheels but crank most certainly. Still very good. Let's hope it releases soon, I'm in for a group buy.

I'm also getting info from a friend who might be able to source piggy back systems from Germany (he owns a car modding company that specialises in VWs and Audis). He currently owns a supercharged RS4 and a twin turbo MK4 R32 so I guess he knows what he's talking about. He said he would get back to me tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted.

The unit that first the R/S3 is the same that is used on the Clubsport/ED40. We have done a soft launch on the product until we have many cars running globally as we need to see if fuel quality issues may arise in in certain markets.

Based on the results we have seen with the 98Ron in Australia there will be no issues running the unit.

The units that are compatible to the ED40 are the R units that are found here: JB1 VW Performance Tuner - BurgerTuning.com From the 25/08 we released a revision 2 unit that has altered firmware that takes the overboost function into account so this is the new units are only compatible.


To get a accurate shipping quote go through the first two steps of the order process. You can close the page after that if you do not want to go ahead. The unit ships with a $100 value so that will give you some customs savings.

I don't have a clubsport but I am/was about to buy a JB1. If there is some sort of group buy I'd love to try and sneak in a JB1 for my GTIP if possible (I know they're different units).

I spoke to the owner of AutoInstruct and he's happy to do a Groupbuy for us. I'm sure we can include non 40 years owners too but just to be safe, I'll check with him first.

I spoke with George yesterday and he said that BMS don't arrange group buys themselves and that it's only up to their dealers to hold one so I guess we'd have to contact an actual dealer/importer.
