Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just getting used to the Active aspect of the ACC. It's fantastic.
I set the ACC to 110km and sit in behind traffic, and the ACC tracks perfectly slower moving cars in front. This morning I let it slow the car down to 40 as the car in front braked to navigate a turn. The display shows cars merging in my right lane too. Overall very impressed. It makes for a good relaxed cruise to work.
(with me always staying alert in control at all times too)

Radar cruise is brilliant. It allows you to concentrate on what is happening around you, without having to worry about arbitrary speed limits, nor what the muppet in front is doing.Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
Current:- Amarok V6 Sportline; Mazda CX-9 Azami AWD
Previous - Mk 6 R manual; Mk 7 R manual; Passat 130 TDi Wagon. Mk 7.5 Wolfsburg Wagon.

Have had the car for a few months and still don't trust it fully. Foot always hovers over break.
Have found a couple of times it's brakes too much when someone is turning left or right and you could pass them fine, but it jumps on the brakes.

Best feature about my 7.5 is the radar cruise i love it
Only issue is the turning traffic it will nail the brakes when you would normally just drive around/past the turning car
i just cancel cruise and reengage after
1st few times took me by surprise tho
Don't forget you can change the default distance (which is medium) to any of the other settings in your setting menu so its always at that distance when engaged without having to set it all the time
I use close as a default as i find medium is to far and constantly get cars cutting in front of me (tho i have had brakes upgraded so stopping power and feel are much better than stock)
I would not buy a car without this feature what a huge jump in safety and easy of use especially when i am tired from work or heavy traffic(or both) just put the cruise on and let the car waft me home no stress no fuss puts a smile on my face every time2017 Golf Alltrack 135tdi All options

Plus if you turn on adaptive lane assist the car will more or less drive itself keeping in the centre of the road, assuming you are going fast enough that lane assist kicks in. Wish we could use Traffic Jam Assist here. I usually turn on auto hold too so I can give my leg a break in start stop traffic.
Along the freeway is such a relaxing drive with ACC and ALA. I feel way more alert to what is going on around me as opposed to trying not to speed, or worry about the next overtake.2018 Golf GTI DSG (DAP LUX INFO R-TAILS)

ALA is good, but it is temporary. If you have your hands off the wheel for more than 10 seconds or so then the car starts beeping. More than 30 seconds then I think the car slows down and starts to pull over.
It isn't designed as a auto drive feature, but still a great one at that!MK7.5 R|Lapiz Blue|DAP|Sunroof|Tint

I have a manual GTI and ACC does not bring the car to a complete stop, just slows down and then beeps at me to brake, even in neutral.
I love the way that gear changes do not affect ACC.
It just continues working through the changes.Mk 7.5 GTI | Manual | Indium Grey | Driver Assist | Infotainment | Luxury Package
