I could not wait put down a holding deposit on a 135kw diesel alltrack in red
ticked all options boxes so 50k,ish on road i am thinking?
Exactly the same configuration and colour, even same boxes I'll be ticking, in a couple of weeks. Have an appointment with local VW bloke in two weeks time.
Anybody comment on extended 2 year vw factory warranty?
Is it worth the 1750 they will try to sting me for it for the peace of mind?
The question you have to answer is do you think something worth 1750+ will go wrong when the car is 4-6 years old? Statistically it's more likely in the first 3 years or after 7 years. VW extended warranty is more or less just a contract with an insurer such as Allianz. If something goes wrong and you claim the dealer (and you) are at the mercy of the insurer person to accept.
x-rated i have a delivery date of 1st 2 weeks in august... so still a while away will be so wound up when it eventually arrives
wife and daughter are already sick of me talking about it
With the warranty i have asked and the warranty is vw just like the 1st 3 years factory backed if you buy the option before it rolls out of the showroom
No 3rd party involved i asked the question pointedly and more than once its def a vw issue factory warranty for extra 2 years no 3rd party
Now the issue is is it worth 1750 for my piece of mind lol thats a question i am still pondering
as my current 8 year old vw diesel golf is still going strong with no issues...... hmmm

As far as i have been able to find out the tricky lsd only comes on the performance version of the gti
so i think you can get a manual with it but you have to pay for model upgrade to performance version

I was hoping that Volkswagen Australia may reassess the situation as the PP-GTI, although a mighty fine vehicle, was not a great seller for VW Australia.
PP-GTI pricing put it too close to the Golf R, STI and Focus RS.
Personally, I could do without all the other extras of the PP-GTI, including big wheels that the PP-GTI comes with. Give me the smaller 18" wheels any day (GTI 7.5 18" wheels look very good btw).
Volkswagen Australia is complaining that GTI sales have dropped from 25% to 17.5% of total Golf sales.
Again, blame the Golf R, STI and RS re: better value for money in terms of bang for your buck. Not to mention a cheaper Standard Manual WRX at 40K with AWD and improving interior finish.
VW would be better off bringing in all Golf 7.5 GTI manuals with tricky mechanical LSD.
After all, the GTI ED-40 manual trans sold out in no time at all. Hopefully VW Australia is listening.
Hi guys!
Any of you preordered a gti? Am thinking of placing a holding deposit but I have got little information if any on specs / guesstimate pricing from any dealers here (qld). I am hoping that they will release the performance version the same time as the standard ones. 😀
I was looking at a gti the current price is about 48.5k on road plus options (up to 6.5k worth) if you want them
would think new gti would nudge 50k plus options
i think the 7.5 series is going to be vry popular so if you want one soon (if you consider september soon) a holding deposit might be a good idea
All the forums and info i have read indicates performance version will not be released till jan 2018
Tho if you want the R thats also coming in september

Thanks for the information Kaching.
Yeah definitely thinking of getting my hands on one "soon" haha. Called up a few dealers but they couldn't give me a estimated delivery date which is a throw off for me in putting a holding deposit. It's nice that your dealer actually commit to a delivery date.
Yep thats it to get a delivery date annoying a dealer is the only option
They will not give you squat on the phone

Thanks guys. Went in a dealer this week and placed a holding deposit. Not getting any information on estimated delivery dates. But was told that the gti and r range might only be released September or maybe October.
Haven't seen any info on the colour range just yet, but some new confirmed details on the R and GTI in Australian spec is as linked! Excited to see a lot of the standard spec but no mention of the R Performance Pack some of the Europeans seem to be getting (including the Akrapovic exhaust) ...
