That's only in the standard R; the Wolfie is DSG-only in the hatch too.

I suspect it's all down to what VWA thinks will sell. For example, the GTI PP here is a distinct model (DSG only) but in Europe it's an option box tick on the GTI and therefore can be had with manual or DSG cars.

It would certainly seem that way. I only bought an R because the standard GTI was a bit too tame and the PP was DSG-only. So on that basis, it was perfect up-selling by VW! [emoji849]

Pricing is out. $59,990 for the hatch and $59,990 for the wagon. $1900 if you want a sunroof. You need to add on-roads to those figures and then haggle. I'm guessing most people should manage low 60s. I can't remember what the full on-roads are.

I've ordered and paid a deposit but I haven't discussed a price with my dealer yet. I must get around to that...

I've also put a deposit down on a hatch with sunroof, but no final price yet. 57,990 plus sunroof and drive away, I'm guessing 63ish. My dealer set they should be putting their orders in by the end of the month.

Dealer delivery is going to be the biggest killer in the final price unfortunately.

I'm thinking about swapping my Mk7 R (white, non-Wolfsburg). I've always wanted a blue R and the 7.5 spec might be enough to tip me over the edge if I can make the maths work.

Yeah, I did a crazy good deal on the trade-in when I bought this car but typically I'd sell privately (having 2 cars makes this easier too from a logistics perspective).

Everyone has heard different things from dealers, car sites etc. I got given an early 2018 release last week from my dealer, before they revised it to end of August a couple of days later. It seems as though dealers are telling porkies, or they themselves don't even know, unless it's based on when their allocation is delievered to them.

yeah, spoke to a few, most arent too sure about pricing and obviously happy to take a deposit with 'subject to final price'.
