Either that's a typo or someone's telling porkies.
Or it's coming by jet boat.
Lol. Mine has been built. Lapis Blue with sunroof. Out of the factory and on the ship around the 15th Dec. Lands apparently on the 30th of Jan. Then a few weeks to dealer. Sound about right? Gee I’d like it on a jet boat.

Mine is Lapiz Blue with lid, has arrived, hopeful of delivery by Xmas.
Nice , I guess we will see a wave of colours besides the white soon.
I have seen 2 x 7.5 wagon wolf but no hatch besides mine since release 7.5 are not as common as I thought. I was also told they are all sold out in hatch form....
What’s happened in the past with colours, was there more options?
Currently the dealer is saying black, white or blue only choices.
Then my fleet guy at work came back with a good priced quote...for Indium grey in the Wolfsburg.
so I don’t know if they just didn’t check that part of the request. I’d prefer the grey or maybe silver would look nice.
I suspect your fleet guy was looking at colour options for the regular Golf R. AFAIK your dealer is giving you correct the info on colour choices for the Wolfsburg edition (which is really only an option pack on a regular Golf R).
VW can (and do) make Golfs in a very wide range of colours, but VWOz refuse to sell them to us.
When I wanted to order a Golf R in Ginster yellow they wouldn't allow me to, even though I offered to pay extra, with a non-refundable deposit, and wait for what is simply a tick-the-box factory option. Based on the feeble explanations I was given I suspect they simply can't be bothered. I do know that if I was an "important" (ie very profitable to VWOz) customer I would have been allowed to order whatever factory colour I wanted. From my experience VWOz still don't seem to make customer satisfaction a high priority.
2017 MY18 Golf R 7.5 Wolfsburg wagon (boring white) delivered 21 Sep 2017, 2008 Octavia vRS wagon 2.0 TFSI 6M (bright yellow), 2006 T5 Transporter van 2.5 TDI 6M (gone but not forgotten).
Think I'm ready to pull the trigger and place an order for a Wolfsburg hatch this weekend (if they're still accepting orders) and wanted to find out what prices people were getting from their dealer?
When I bought my wagon the dealers weren't budging from MSRP. I did manage to get $400 off their (rather exorbitant) dealer delivery fee, and a full tank of fuel, but that was it.
I just looked on carsales.com.au and there were only 2 hatches listed, so if you want one you might need to get cracking. There were 18 wagons, so a bit more to choose from there.
