Spoke to the dealer awhile back when enquiring about the R wagon and I remember asking about the 2 year extended warranty to which he replied there is none. Does VW not offer this or is this limitation only for the Wolfsburg? I'd be dreading the repair bill for the dsg unit outside of warranty.

Posted this in the Wolfsburg R thread but will do so here too.
What does one do after a morning at the cinema's being good parents during the School holidays, head to the local VW dealer of course specifically looking for Wolfsburg R's.
Had a chat with the dealer, discussing all that needs to be relayed (more Golf R wagons, new Passat with Golf R engine & running gear etc) & he said that the desire & interest for standard Golf R wagons is very strong & VAG knows this. In the sales guys words, 'they are more likely to be coming than not'. Interesting......
Don't recall if I read it here or on the other forum of interest discussing the Wolfsburg R's (Limestone Grey R wagon) but I will just post a pic or two here just in case.
To those interested, this Limestone Grey wagon is not accounted for so if you are wanting a Limestone Grey then you need to get to Hornsby VW quick.....
Well, going on this article in GoAuto today we will all be winners if they do go ahead with either more Wolfsburg R wagons, the possible availability of standard R wagons or the introduction of Wolfsburgs in other model lines...
For now, the German car-maker's hyper wagon will be the flag-bearer, with the freshly released R Wagon only available in styling-enhanced Wolfsburg variety, priced from $58,990 before on road costs, but will herald more tweaked VWs.
Speaking at the launch of the new Golf R Wagon, Volkswagen Group Australia communications general manager Karl Gehling told GoAuto “we are looking to offer Wolfsburg editions on other premium models in the range,” but a non-Wolfsburg R wagon was also under consideration.
“We would certainly consider it. The interest in the car is good to see and we will investigate if we can offer additional variants. We’d certainly be looking at whether or not we could extend beyond the Wolfsburg edition.”
With a lack of high-performance wagons in the Volkswagen range since the V6-engined Passat R36 was discontinued, Mr Gehling said that the new offering was generating significant interest.
“It’s a special edition with restricted production for the Golf R Wagon so our biggest concern is the number of vehicles we will have available to us. At this stage we have over 300 but we are trying to secure more because we have much more interest in the car. We haven’t had a performance wagon in our line up since the R36. That was a very successful model for us and this is a return to offering that nice balance of performance and practicality.”........
The report said no keyless entry to add to the previously known no LED tailights either. Jeez, with one hand you gain new toys and with the other you lose existing ones. [emoji35]
It's all ok. Another user on another thread just confirmed the cars do have KESSY, with photos from a pre-delivered car.
Looks great in white! I'm so looking forward to mine with sunroof.
