For everyone's benefit. I've downloaded the 5GB file, stripped out all the useless stuff for Australia and NZ, and repackaged it. It's now a 361mb download from Google Drive, should be really quick.
Details:
1. Downloaded full 5GB of map data.
2. Removed all market folders except AUS. This folder contains the map and voice data for Australia and New Zealand.
3. Repacked folders into RAR archive.

EDIT: Making it clear this is for MIB1 only.

Hmm that's strange, worked perfectly fine when I tested it.

It worked for me, thanks Agentthumb [emoji106]
Initially, when I first inserted the SD card back into the car it sat there for ages "loading navigation ". I had to go through the menu and select "remove SDx card safely " then re-inserted again and everything worked fine!
I've tried ROW 2017 again with a different download but it comes up with the dreaded - "No playable files available."
My V3 SD card started with ROW 2015 maps and I successfully upgraded to ROW 2016 maps last year.
Have I irretrievably damaged my SD card? Help??
I fear that even if I tried to go back to my ROW 2016 backup it won't work....
Reformat your SD card and download the 2016 model year maps for MIB2, not the 2015 model year as that is MIB1 if you are using the V3 SD card originally.
Did you save the ROW 2016 maps to your computer? If so the new files for your map should look the same in folder lay out.
File should be called 0735_MP161-1264a.xROW2

Hi Flipper Dog,
My MY15 Golf GTI Performance is still MIB1. The file is P41_N60S3MIBS2_ROW_NT
Yes, I did save my ROW 2016 maps - P34_N60S3MIBS2_ROW_NT
I can't really see why it wouldn't work - I reformat the SD card like I am supposed to do. I'm worried that I didn't remove it from the car correctly - but I've never had an issue before.

Or dear, red face... I had another think about it and check the Navigation.com instructions. I wasn't saving the root directory directly to the SD card - I was saving the actual directory P41_N60S3MIBS2_ROW_NT and it wouldn't read it. Doah.....

Also, if it doesn't work, try the following steps (thanks Herbie_059):
"Initially, when I first inserted the SD card back into the car it sat there for ages "loading navigation ". I had to go through through the menu and select "remove SDx card safely " then re-inserted again and everything worked fine!"

Let me know if you have issues.
Can I just ask is this just an update of the maps or does it introduce any new features to the navigation?
