  • Plus one with super cheap. You will need to cut the ends off and attach with a spot weld or some putty, but for around $25 each they are value for money.
You can also see your local muffler shop as they have chrome end caps in many styles.

    • "Eyelids"

So I saw these on eBay. I've never bought something like this before - I tend to go for mods with purpose over purely styling. But at $28 I figured, why not.

I realise it's purely subjective, but I can't decide if I like them or not. I like the idea of them, but not convinced in the application.

      Thoughts?

      • The photos really don't do LSG justice, either

        • I was the same. Mine's LSG as well. Took me a good couple weeks to decide. Left them on. I don't mind them, although I've got black Pretorias & mirror caps as well. Leave them for a week & see what you think.

          • Hmm........ as you say, it's a very subjective thing - aesthetically !! What happens to the upper end of the reflector light-spread? Given that the "eyelids" appear to extend out so far, doesn't their presence cut-off the top part of the beam pattern (particularly for High-beam)?

            • Looks a tad ricey - not really a fan of add-ons to the Mk7 given it has a clean shape as is.

It may work better if you can source a similar grille to say the ABT kits which carry the eyelid line right through the top of the grill. I can't upload a pic now but just google it and you'll see what I mean.

But each to their own, what matters is if you like it. There are guys out there who like Santiago and Cadiz wheels too.

                      • Golf R 7 Boost Gauge

                        Hi guys,

                        Anybody fitted a boost gauge?
There are plenty of mounts for left hand drive cars but cant find much for the aussie model.

This guy says that he has supplied a P3 boost gauge to an Australian customer (Golf R)

Probably cost an arm-and-a-leg but see his contact details HERE

Matt: There's been lots of chat about the "performance" function in overseas sites. The facility can be added retrospectively and it does need a coding change to the 5F unit (with a VCDS cable). But unfortunately it also requires a change to the firmware of the infotainment unit, which is a dealer thing.
