  • Reply #1000 already; thought I'd look back at some of my personal favourites - these are the ones I'd be most likely to want to run myself to suit my styling, at least as I am feeling tonight lol.

This might just be my favourite set up, the height and coloring is the sort of thing I'd aim for with OZ Ultraleggeras:

A cheapie option but fresher than 710s, the newer VMR 810s:

Not a kit guy, but if I had money to burn and a black R I'd be tempted by the Oettinger treatment:

Ideally this car would be running an inch lower on VWR springs or premium KWs but for now she will stay at stock height for flexibility. Combined with a more aggressive fitment in 19s or illegal spacers and she'd be spot on for me.

These particular wheels have featured before in 18 inch but they also can be found in 17 inch; no longer in production but ECS carries these anthracite versions still.

        • Hmm the wheel deal on the oz superturisimo lm's applies only to the black finish so now considering vwr 19" matt graphite alloys but in the cheaper prorace 1.3 format, black oz superturisimo lm's or my wild card (which I ditched first time around only because of the weight) bbs xa's In black with diamond cut spokes.

I think the XAs would look pretty sweet! Look at post #600 (unsure how to link on phone app) in this thread and then try to say no haha

How does the pricing lineup between the two? The Prorace/VWRs are a decent wheel, but I'd still take the OZs. Shop around for the graphite or run the blacks - as I said before I think it's one wheel where it can work; and the black on Lapiz also works.

                Ok, no.

As I commented back then I'm still not sold on them, although I don't mind them. I guess for xxtrickzxx the Falcodore comment is likely lost on him, and not applicable to the UK market.

                    ..
The pro race 1.3 are actually in the uk almost budget at £850 to vwr putting there stamp on it and charging £1350,the oz supeturisimo's are £1270 but should retail at £1550(deal because black probably not selling well) and the xa's are £1120(bbs ch-R 19" retail at £1599 in the uk).

Interesting - the VWRs are around £1,420 here retail. I can get my hands on the OZs for about £1,500 equivalent and the BBS would be about £1,450 (noting this is all with Australian taxes and based on whatever exchange rate Google is spitting out tonight, with the AUD well down compared to when I bought my last set which has forced local prices to creep up a fair bit lately).

That makes the black OZs a pretty sharp deal.. but if you're not feeling them just get the graphite - otherwise you'll be off changing them again in three months.

Tell me about it, I do get bored easily wheel wise - but I suspect that's a by-product of this thread.

Once again I'm not quite there, but I don't mind it - combined with the VW cap it starts to feel OEM, or at least VAG given its similarity to Audi designs (which I noted in the original post, quite a few A3s wearing these on the web). I think they gain their feel of size because the outline remains black and fades into the tyre. They look more purposeful like this.. in 19s I suspect they'd end up looking more show wheel than performance wheel, and I prefer the latter generally.

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.3 Alloy Wheels Set Of 4 | Demon Tweeks

There are other options in the same Team Dynamics range that may appeal. As xxtrickzxx states Team Dynamics/Pro Race manufacture wheels for VWR, the only difference is the stamp on the wheel.

The above wheels will be around $1450 delivered in AU from Demon Tweeks in today's money/exchange rates. Seems they may only be available in silver and black at that price though.

Dutch you are doing an excellent job with this wheel thread. My favourite 'pictures' so far have been OZ Racing Ultraleggera in 19" in silver on a Lapiz blue and Limestone Grey Rs.

I think it's also cause there's some reasonable stretch in the tyres being used too so the sidewall height appears less, hence makes the rim look/feel larger.
