RAYS Volk Racing G25 Mercury Silver
I've been meaning to post photos of my RAYS VR G25 wheels ever since I fitted them to my car in December last year. I've been very happy with my choice, not 100% sure whether they would compliment the appearance of my yet to be delivered Golf R, when I had placed my order with the good folk at Tyrepower Hawthorn. I've had many positive comments since fitment, some negative about colour (saying I should have got black) and country of origin (not mentioning any names David aka Dutch 77).
The best features of the wheels are their lightweight forged construction, 19x8 in size, each weighing slightly different between 8.23 kg and 8.30 kg. By comparison, I weighed an OEM Cadiz wheel at 10.79 kg, which I think for an OEM cast wheel is creditably light, though its strength will be nowhere near that of a quality forged wheel. Cleaning these RAYS wheels are a breeze, including the accessible inner rims.
I also purchased a RAYS V-1 EU parts set, which includes chrome bolts and aluminium hubrings 73.1/57.1. The OEM bolts cannot be used as the RAYS wheels require tapered bolts.
If anyone is interested in obtaining more information about these wheels, such as price and availability, call the guys at Tyrepower Hawthorn, as they take a lot pride in the service they offer (including interstate orders), and their pricing is very competitive.
Oh, if anyone suggests I need to lower my car, please don't. I have enough of a front ground clearance issue already.

well, it's good to be back after almost 3 months away
good news, I bought the tyres, Dunlop Sport Maxx 205/45 R18, the soft compound version
found them in another state, sweet deal, they will arrive next week, hopefully
also bought the original center caps to install in the place of the Audi 5 point originally fitted

Come on Mikey, I've seen SUVs running lower than you..
The Rays have come up good mate, even for a Jap wheel. I don't blame you on the lows, it looks good but too much headache on the scrap and ride front. And that finish > black.
Taken you long enough to get those up, I've even managed to become a 'neighbour' since you last graced the wheel thread.
While on some lightweights:
