DSG RECALL on MK7 - just received the letter

Good friend of mine, today had to book his MK7 TSI Comfortline (8,000km) in for a "warranty repair" on the DSG7 ..... making weird noises every time he pulls off from a standing start and VW says its a "known issue" which will be repaired under warranty.
I warned him not to buy the DSG7 but he did anyway thinking VW must have fixed this by now, especially since they said so when the MK7s came out!Last edited by Sharkie; 30-04-2014, 04:56 PM.Current: 2023 MY23 T-Roc R Lapiz Blue + Beats Audio + Black pack 2018 MY19 Golf R manual Lapiz Blue + DAP) 2018 MY18 Golf 110TSI (150TSI) Trendline manual White2014 Amarok TSI Red (tuned over 200kw + lots of extras) 2013 Up! manual Red 2017 Polo GTI manual Black Previous VWs and some others ...

Likewise, 8,800kms and on 3 occassions on the same day I heard a loud noise on pulling away from a standstill. This was about 3 weeks ago and has been silent since. My dad has a 2010 A3 and it is the same noise his was making before the clutch packs were replaced.
Took mine to the dealer who said they could not replicate - understandable. They did ring VW Aust and explained the problem and got authorisation to change the clutch packs. I also thought the 7 speed DSG issues were long past.
Interested to know of any other MK 7 's who have had clutch packs replaced.MY 14 Golf MK7 90TSI DSG Night Blue

At least now they're changing the clutches with minimal hassle. My sister got the clutch packs done on her out of warranty, recently purchased Octavia free of charge.MY16 Octavia RS 162 Race Blue Combi

DSG RECALL on MK7 - just received the letter

Edit: here is the list of work carried out. I only had the 45D4 completed after all. I wonder what the "pipe" reference is?

The service dude dismissed most of my questions, just said each one was a software update. My dashcam ran for most of the service, I saw them hook up to the car under the hood and the disappear for a while. They didn't road test the car following the service either."Carried out campaign 34F6 and placed sticker on Right Side of A pillar"Sure enough, when I looked at the RHS "A" pillar on my car, the sticker (much the same as yours) was indeed there proudly stating that 34F6 was completed.
Are you sure that the recall was done and no sticker? Knowing first hand what pedants VW dealers are for the protocol of Head Office, I'm surprised that the sticker wasn't installedPlease don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs.
