Hmm I was actually just going to post a thread regarding the mk7 7 speed dsg and how people have been going with it. Also interested in how many kms people have covered so far trouble free.

I'd imagine quite a few owners will have received the letter by now.

Note that the recall doesn't apply to all Mk7 Golfs, but there are a lot of other models affected by this recall worldwide (the DQ200 gearbox is fitted to many variants), so as work orders slowly flow through the system in each country, expect more people to be formally notified in the coming months, logistics permitting.

On Volkswagen's Australian website towards the bottom of the page, there is a link to a vehicle recall lookup tool, where you can enter the VIN to see if the vehicle is affected by the three recalls listed on the page.

Well this sucks I'll have to make time to drop the car off, and i'm relocating next week, sigh...

haven't had any issues so far, but better not risk it. I've done about 3.4k Km

That was a recall last November (15th of Nov 2013), that's taken a while to get to you guys.

Ordered - Audi S3 Sedan in Sepang Blue (BW 29)

That's interesting because the recall number I have (in Sydney - I'm returning tomorrow) is different 3C something.

when you say returning, you mean sending the car to fix right, or do you actually returning the car altogether?

Oooooops. I've been away in Victoria and am returning to Sydney today (now) It's just I don't have the recall letter with me so could not quote the recall campaign code.

I thought the Golf 7's have a new DSG gearbox. I can't believe they still have not fixed the problem.

I've already had the DSG recall matter fixed as part of my last visit to my dealer in December 2013 (The dealer installed Voice Control on my Highline). The dealer said that the fix was par tof a "VW campaign" (whatever that means). The dealer described the fix a simply replacing the oil in the gearbox. I got my letter this morning
Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

No, the Mk7 Golf is fitted with the the same DQ200 gearbox as used in the rest of VW's range.

The Mk7 gearboxes are still DQ200 but have different codes (ie. 0CW) to the ones used in the Mk6 (0AM).
                          Current:
                          2017 Mk2 Tiguan 162TSI, R-line, White
                          2020 Mk7.5 Golf R Wagon, White

Interesting and MY14 VINs are not part of the recall so may not be affected or slightly different again.

If it's just an oil change it's likely they simply changed the oil in the factory (or on the dealer floor) before selling them.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
