I got the 034 Dogbone mount installed and oh wow what a difference. I don't think I have encountered any wheel hop, and it has been about a month since installing it. At times when my tires are feeling happy, I can floor it with minimal wheelspin.
Thank you all for the help
Most welcome I'm getting the JB1 this Saturday for Ma GTI Perf
Average consumption stays on 1.0 to 1.9 l/100 even if the car is stopped
Hi all.
So I've had my 2014 mk7 dsg gti for a week and just seeing how economical it is. I only got a little over 495kms on the tank with 20km range left. Not sure if this is bad?
So if I am sitting at lights or even parked up (with air-con on or off) the average is still ticking away at 1 up to 1.9 which is giving my computer wrong averages. Anyone else experience this?
Are you sure it doesn't change over to read l/hr instead of l/100km?
I checked that setting. Its definitely on l/100km.
Its really frustrating, Considering the guy i bought it of averaged 700-750 ks a tank.
Also my Range went from 600 to 440 from the first fill up to the one i did today. I'm guessing this always changes depending on what your last full tank has done?
There is no setting for this. The MFD in the dash when displaying Current Consumption will change over from l/100km to l/hr when the car comes to a stop. This happens by design.

oh ok, thats really good to know
Then sometimes when i accelerate it goes up to 40 l/100kms till it stabilizes (under very light throttle)
Is that also normal?

Driving in traffic? Driving on the motorway? Different strokes for different folks.

im used to a big turbo diesel hilux with no fuel monitors, so im just being all anal about it all. Considering i got 200 + plus ks less than the previous owner. Im pretty sure he did mostly highway driving anyway.
Thanks for the help guys.
look at buying eurodyne tune shortly too. Will be interesting to see the difference!

Don't know what you're on about ^^
Traffic makes a big difference in fuel consumption. Used to be live close to the city here in Brisbane but that meant I was in stop start traffic on most days and won't get above 60km/h driving to/from work. Averaged about 500-550km/tank then.
Moved out to the suburbs so that meant a round trip of about 55kms but because I don't leave home from work until 0900 ish, when I get on the motorway there's not much traffic to speak of so I spend most of my time cruising at speed to work. Now average about 600-650km/tank thereabouts?
Yes I'm a bit anal on the fuel consumption too. Bloody steering button has got a different feel/sound to it nowadays since I spent a lot of time clicking up and down looking at fuel figures :s

Yea that all sounds pretty reasonable and pretty much on par with how mine is performing, well thats a relief anyway
After a few days driving my new MK7 GTI I must admit to being very impressed. It feels a lot different to my MK6 which I sold 4 years ago. The weird thing is that at times the car sounds like a diesel ! I'm guessing it is the soundaktor thingo ?

Congrats.
Is it an MY16? If so, the driving profile ("Individual") can virtually turn the Soundaktor cabin noise off.
