  • Hi guys, I am new to the forum. Just picked my GTI mk7.5 2018, a couple days ago. My first time owning the golf gti, so very excited.

I have a question about the GTI, not sure if it is the most appropriate place to post a question, but I did it anyway.

My GTI has cloth interior, which looks great and comfortable. however, just after a couple of days of driving it, I found the armrests (at the centre and on the door) are like a skin magnet, its cloth is hard like a sand paper, so leaving alot of white skins marks on them. is there anyone having the same issue as mine? and how did you guys go about it? (put on a OEM leather, wrap them...) hope to hear from you. Cheers.

    • Good point. Mine was like that the whole time I owned it. Wasn't so bad that it bothered me too much but I found it difficult to clean.

      • Hi guys, am new to the forum. Currently looking at picking up a MY19 GTI. However am confused as to whether the GTI comes with dynamic cornering light? I've read the spec sheets (which says no), but the sale person today insisted that the headlight will change direction depending on steering input? Also, does the GTI come with twin LED Daytime running light like the R or is it just 1 bar each side? (only got the chance to testdrove the R today but not the GTI). Thanks guys!

Looks like it’s just one daytime running light on each side. Not impressed, but not a deal breaker.

Any chance of a wheel mod post delivery?

Hahaha, it’s extremely unlikely. I’m a stickler for stock and I don’t have anywhere to store the OEM wheels.

Thought about the sound/vision pack with the Brescia wheels but wasn’t worth the $2300 to me - I’m a fan of the volume knob and don’t listen to loud music. Was already pushing it going for a brand new car anyway

Buuuuuuut, if you wanna try and change my mind on the wheel front, I’d ve open to suggestions for wheels in Melbourne (inner north) [emoji6]

Haha.. I hear you. I always retain stock wheels to put back on later.

Ironically I have a set of flawless Brescias/Rubys with good Pirelli rubber which I am about to take off the ED40!

Planning to make an exception to your stock wheel retention rules and offload them? [emoji6]

I could be tempted, Mrs Dutch would certainly approve instead of having a set of wheels taking up space.

                          • Anyone got any advice for running the car in? Picking her up this week.

Drive it like I stole it? Drive like a granny? All of the above or somewhere in between?

So many varied views on the matter! Thanks
