Is there a thread dedicated for MK 7 Golf GTI tuning, aftermarket upgrades and anything of the likes? Or is this the one?
I put a deposit on mine and it is currently getting built in Germany. 3 or 4 months it'll take so I can't help but do my research on tuning options and anything really.

Is there an aftermarket tuning option which allows you to select a range of tunes from mild to hyper? I had a Dreamscience unit for my XR5 which let me put a mild tune for daily driving but if I wanted something more aggressive I could simply select that. It would also give you option to choose tunes which were low down boost to a tune where power came on in the last 2000rpms in a big rush, lots of fun.

I have done a bit of a search (on the forum) and couldn't find what I was after so apologies if this has been covered.
Has anyone done mods on their Mk7 GTI manual exhaust? I'm looking to let just a touch more of the note out. More than happy with performance, and don't want to go overboard as my daughter will start driving it on her L's at the end of the year. Would be keen to know if anyone got it done in Brissy too.
Many thanks

How smooth is the manual shifting though. Engine got set to 'Sport' a month ago - cant believe I had it in 'Normal' for so long..MY16 MK7 Golf GTI

He was right. When I picked mine up in November, I put it in Sport and it hasn't been out of it!
I'm the guy who stops on the side of the 110 km/hr zone just so I can spank it in to 4th!2015 MY16 Golf GTI Manual

Also, in regards to fuel use in sport mode - I have not tested it but 5 minutes in sports mode will tell you that fuel use will be considerably higher*. On the highway it holds 4th gear for a lot longer once you reach 100km/h before changing to 6th for example. Around town it holds lower gears for a lot longer as well to give you that sudden kick when you need it.
* Depends on your interpretation of "considerably". For me it's anything between 0.5L/100km and up.2016 GTI Performance | Pure White | JB1 | Dog Bone | Full Tint | Stop/Start Delete | Avatar by sandwg

Awesome, sounds very easy to do then!
I've ordered a manual so I shouldn't have that issue, granted I'm not smashing it the whole time which I won't.
Thank you for such a great response, answered everything really well.

Hi folks,
Had to keep my GTI in the garage for a few months and hooked up a ctek charger to it. Had it on for a week or two and noticed that it never went into maintenance mode.
By ignorance I hooked up the negative terminal to the battery point instead of the bulk head! As soon as I realized what I done I connected it to the bulk head point. But now I'm worried that I did some sort of damage somewhere. The car drives fine from what I can tell and the stop/start system seems to work.
Should I be worried?
Thanks

Not on a GTI but on my R. Audi have a resonator delete kit for the S3 & R.
It essentially just replaces the centre resonator with a straight pipe. Very stealthy & only a slight increase in"growl".
Any exhaust shop can do the same thing.
There are quite a few threads on the subject & a ton of impressions / opinions.
Like I said, it is for the R, but should be able to have the same thing done on a GTI.

Some local news on the 40th GTI: Volkswagen Golf GTI 40 Years price revealed
Not sure I could cope with the look, but 195kW and hopefully the standard Pretorias are a winner.
