The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

My lease company is trying to get a quote together for me on a GTI but VAG hasn't released any fleet pricing yet so he can't tell me what its going to cost. Is this sort of thing normal for VW? Makes it pretty hard to sell a car when you wont tell someone how much it will be and because I want some options it will have to be built so I need to get cracking if I go the GTI. Has anyone managed to get a fleet price yet?

Brendan that discount of around $4,000 was that corporate or corporate plus?2019 MY19 Mini JCW Hatch

Well if your dealers are saying no fleet discount yet, maybe my dealer just gave me a good deal? My wife is eligible for corporate.MY20 Golf GTI TCR

Thanks for the comments - interesting that you could feel a difference between the 5 and the 6 for turbo lag. I used to have a WRX so I am no stranger to turbo lag but have really enjoyed the linear delivery in the 5. I think turbo lag is a bit more bearable in a manual where you have more discretion about when you are in the power band or not but my wife is an automatic driver only so an auto is a must and it just isn't as good in the 7 unless you are in S mode which holds on to gears too aggressively to make it usable day to day.
I also had a warranty scare when the AC destroyed itself after about 3.5 years which paid off the investment in a 5 year warranty by itself. It is one of the factors that has me thinking about getting a new car.
I really like the Golf though, it has been a great drive throughout.

Picked up my red mk7 DSG (standard - no options) yesterday. Involuntary change of car after my mk6 was written off 2 months ago (Prepared for the new car by a hire Nissan Micra in the interim).
Impressions by a former mk6 gti (Adidas pack) owner from 2 days around town (no hwy yet)
-Beautiful fit and finish overall
-Drive is quiet, rattle/squeak /noise free over any bumps so far (more impressive than it sounds in this sentence). More comfortable with 18" wheels than the 19" wheels on my old one (but I liked the look of the old wheels better). Goes round corners seemingly as well
- engine - less character seemingly (from my 2 month old memories) - quieter; less noise on gear change (exhaust pipe). Seemingly the quietness indicates less effort being done ? Less sports like?
- interior - better seats in trim and overall finish than I recall. I like the Clark tartan and seat fabric. Neato LED like strip lights in trim in front on doors and trim
- Discover Media. Overall very good; despite screen looking smaller than RNS510 . Better nav, info overall. Radio and RDS works well. SD card slots for media (suspect one slot is permanently used by nav system sd card which gets handed to you as new owner). minor Disapointment : my old iPod not supported (no Media I/F, just USB) - bluetooth /USB/sd card only. Don't know why they took up space in glovebox with CD player (and took away the owners handbook stowage space!)
- Bluemotion - works well; quite noticeable when engine stops.. Seemingly always has started by time foot on brake moves to accelerator
Overall, it is a step forwards ; but V1.5 rather than 2.0 (if that makes sense). You don't need to sell your Mk6 unless you absolutely need the latest and greatest!Golf VII GTI MY 14 (Post my VI Adidas GTI being written off)
