  • Hmm not to big on the rear view camera & Chassis control, but I guess there's not going to be much choice in the matter.

I would have put that money towards Xenon's if I were in the UK

Just a footnote for explanation of them in the appendix.

Nice to see the colour MFD made it. Shame about the discover media, its screen is the same resolution as the old RCD510, bit of a let down if you have an RNS510 in your current car... Perhaps they're still getting some of the google maps stuff and internet connectivity ready for the discover pro.

            • Google Earth wouldn't be an issue afaik.

If anything it would probably be the different standards/frequencies used in Australia for 3G/4G mobile Internet

There's still the need for quality control and whatnot. Audi said their system would be ready early 2014, so I'd say VW would be ready not long after.

                • I think LTE in USA and most countries is 900MHz, as it is here for Optus, etc. But Telstra NextG is 850MHz. This might be outdated since I last researched this when looking at when the Galaxy S2 would arrive here and if buying an International version would work. Actually that's probably the old 3.5G frequency given this info on LTE:

The LTE standard covers a range of many different bands, each of which is designated by both a frequency and a band number. In North America, 700, 800, 1900 and 1700/2100 MHz (AWS) are used (bands 4, 12, 13, 17, 25); 2500 MHz in South America; 800, 900, 1800, 2600 MHz in Europe(bands 3, 7, 20); 1800 and 2600 MHz in Asia (bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 13, 40); and 1800 MHz in Australia and New Zealand (bands 3, 40). As a result, phones from one country may not work in other countries. Users will need a multi-band capable phone for roaming internationally.
So yeah, getting the Aus-specific frequency setup, tested, passed through our equivalent of FCC, etc would be the likely delay I'm guessing.

Sure thing. Pretty short list though, with no Nav upgrade listed.

                      • No mention of the 19" rims as an option. My mate spoke to the dealer today and they tried to talk him out of the 19" because it will affect the ride. I bet they're not even getting them for this first round.

No mention of the LED tail lights either.

Good work! Thanks for posting it up.

I reckon the 19" alloys will be std on the Performance Pack, hence why it is not an option. Noticed also that the most expensive paint option on the UK configurator - Oryx White - didn't make it here.

                              • If i read the configurator correctly last time... 19 inch rims cannot be specified if you want the optional sunroof. Weird.
