Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah, that seems to be the case everywhere (heard about it in UK and NZ). Maybe the 19s make things too firm for the sunroof?

Maybe like the Tiguan everyone else gets an option of the 19" wheel but it was too costly to get adr'd so they just wouldn't offer it here.

        Thanks for clarifying that...

I don't mind those rims. Look like a derivative of the Austin wheels. That's the first time that I've seen a wheel alternative to Austin and Santiago.

Damn. No distinctive LED tail lights even with the bixenon upgrade?

            • This probably needs to go in the Golf R thread, but I like this group of guys.

Volkswagen R GmbH / Die Leidenschaft des Motorsports - weiterentwickelt

The artificial looking photos that have been previously released were really underwhelming, but the video and the photos look freakin' awesome!

Maybe we should all save up and wait.

Sure and yes 18 in rims, but we still don't know the price! The options listed all up come to between $7,500 and $8,000, metallic paint $450. A fully loaded GTI will probbaly have a rrp of between $48,000 and $49,00. There will be no discounts for the first few months.

Is this the original or a third party unit?

I just think that if you are paying for the bixenon upgrade, this should already come with it.

I agree, I have Bi-Xennon on my Golf 7 and was a little disappointed that it did not have LED tail lights.

The mob claim that they are OEM, but I would do some checking first. I'm considering them, but its a lot of money.

I was just a bit skeptical about the plug and play AND original claims because if it is an original part, the Mk6 required toggling of some codes in the VAGCOM to get the LED tail lights to work.

My father in law got the bixenon upgrade as well but no LED either in Singapore.

Carsystems generally only sell OEM items, I don't think i've ever seen an aftermarket item on their store. They generally are on the ball when it comes to whether or not it needs vcds. These guys do tacho swaps and everything. Guess we'll find out once people start modding their GTIs

                              • So adaptive chassis control is standard on the GTI?
