so discount isn't too bad.
Tell em to throw in the metallic paint (if not red and white) and tints too
also check if the corporate discount gets u free servicing too.

Does anyone who has ordered (but not received) have a tracker number yet? Can we track the build like the uk can?

A number of us have been given dates from December to March but I suspect they'll all be on the same boat

Been told my car will be built 28th of this month. So should have a vin number in the next few weeks, then it's the long boat ride to Aus.

-Sunroof

-even better if it has bi-xenons.

-not fussed on colour or other accessories.

I can't say for sure what vehicles they have in stock at the moment, but if you contact your nearest Volkswagen dealer, I'm sure they'll be able to determine if they have a car on the ground in Australia with the combination you're after.

From my experience you can only track the shipping ex factory with the vin number. In the uk you get a special order number that allows you to see the progress of your car during the build phase. I'm not ware of this being offered to Australian customers.

What options? I just want a sunroof basically If VW can't give me what I want when I'm dropping ~$50K then I might have to look at some of its cousins.

Um a sunroof is an option isn't it?? You also mentioned xenons which is another option.

The first batch of GTIs had very limited options.
I ordered on the 4th October and all I wanted was xenons, driver asist and DSG and nothing was available.

So if your happy with a standard car and any colour you should get one.

If you want an A250 sport be prepared to wait 6-8 months.

Totally looking forward to it! Working fulltime for last 3 years saved for house and now finally my dream car (6yrs since i first saw mk5 GTI). Will be awesome!

Definitely take a pic of my car once i have it! the Xenons will look breath-taking!
