I installed some eyelids this morning for ****s and giggles, along with a BFI stage one torque arm insert.



I like the subtle more aggressive look the eyelids add, especially in black as they are harder to spot. I understand it's not for everyone of course.

The torque arm insert was worth every penny (so far)

Did you source the dogbone insert locally Matt? I am thinking of adding this to the mod list with the JB1 going in, as reports seem to say a good thing to do (as you now confirm too).

I googled and found VTech or something but attempts to contact them have failed. Any ideas best place to source? Prefer to support local suppliers if I can.

I got mine from Dub Addiction. I was a bit iffy on whether or not they were a legit mob having never dealt with them before, but I got the insert so I can vouch for them haha. In the end it probably cost about the same as getting one shipped from OS (~$95 all told including shipping) but I at least got it pretty quick.

Thanks Matt will give then a try! If I'm under the car tinkering with the bottom plug of the JB1 it can't hurt to add one of these at the same time...

Just note that you'll need a torque wrench as the replacement bolt needs to be tightened to 100nm. I was able to borrow one. I think they're pretty pricey.

Thanks for the tip. Yep have one of them. Any Brisbane members close by doing this change are welcome to borrow it as they are expensive unless you use them a fair bit. Have ramps as well to make it safer climbing underneath if needed...

The ramps would have been fantastic yesterday. I had my car up in the curb and it was still a tight squeeze to get under their haha. The mount is dead centre between the front wheels so it's a bit if a stretch to reach.

I might take you up on that as the thought of buying a wrench for this job is a bit excessive. My wrench is designed for carbon bike parts so only goes to 20nm!

I should have opticoated my car when I got it. I was too much of a tight-arse. Probably still worth it I guess.

Up here the local provider is Superfresh Detailing - great guy to deal with, very OCD, (which is what you want on these matters). Price was $1200 for everything - Opticoat Pro Plus (top spec system they have), all interior surfaces including leather setas etc - there are lots of bottles of different stuff for different materials down there - plus all exterior surfaces including glass, lights etc... Extra $66 per wheel to have the wheels removed and full inside and out treatment, plus the calipers done. Worth doing to make the dreaded brake dust much easier to clean off.

As a clear coat instead of just a sealant, the Opticoat is a great solution in my opinion - I get all cars done with it now - and has a very long warranty. Ten years I think from memory. A permanent solution to the paint protection, and does not repeated top up re-application. Goes rock hard, and makes a huge difference to the surface. My other vehicle is nearing two years old - looks like new.
