Seems to be pretty much on the mark for price at the moment, I just signed off an a Limestone Grey Wolfsburg DSG with Sunroof for $62k drive away.

Congrats on your purchase, when does yours get delivered?

Nice prices guys, I'm looking at getting back into VAG again with the Wolfsburg hatch- with sunroof at $60.5k seems doable.

It's currently in transit as we speak, had one on the boat in that was the exact spec I was looking for. Dealer said it will be on the shores mid-late Sept but they currently don't have a date for the Wolf's that they can give me as to when VW said they can be 'released for delivery'.

For those lucky enough the Tombarra docked this morning in Melbourne. My VIN doesn't show up on the website so I don't know what boat it's on lol the next boat in line is the Tugela which is currently on the west side of Africa.

My car landed in Fremantle on Monday the 24th of August. I was told by the dealer that the delivery time should be anywhere from 7-10 days. 8 days now and I still haven't been given a delivery day yet. What would be considered a typical delivery turn around time?

My understanding is 2-3 weeks from when the car arrives in the country. If you haven't heard anything yet I wouldn't be holding my breath.

My car arrived in Melbourne on Sunday morning (haven't heard anything from the dealer yet but I have been tracking it). My dealer has told me that the car will take between 2 and 3 weeks from now. Not sure that I really believe them though as there has been a lot of misinformation given to me by them since I ordered the car.

It appears that some dealers have a hard time being transparent and honest IMO.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know if the dealerships are a little in dark themselves in regards to the time frame but you'd think they'd cover themselves by giving you a worse case scenario rather than the most optimistic one.

I don't think the dealers are in the dark at all. I think they just tel you what they think you want to hear. Personally I would rather hear the truth than some token answer that they seem to give LOL.

I was trying really hard not to check, but I snapped and had a look. According to the tracker, the ETA is the 4th of September, and the last activity was 'Liner Release' which happened yesterday. Not sure what any of that actually means.

The crap part is the car is a lease and I specified the earliest I would accept it is the 25th of September (need to offload my current car first). So it'll be sitting somewhere collecting dust for nearly a month if it is at the dealership

Just tell your leasing company to tell the dealer that you want it earlier if available - that is, if you actually want the car earlier! That's not uncommon, and definitely something you should be able to do.
