It isn't legal to tint your headlights with 3M tint FYI.
From the 3M website :
Q.Can Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film be used on headlights, foglights or windshields?
A.In Australia, Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film does not meet the Department of Transportation's standards for optical clarity. Other countries may have different legislation. Please contact your local 3M Representative to help answer this question in your country.

Congratulations on your new Golf it looks great especially that colour with the Mag Wheels. I have the 90TSI in Reflex Silver and I'm so impressed with the car and the economy of it 6.1 L/100KLM. The only little gripe I have is with the dashboard display hard to read on dull days it really needs some lighting but I can always turn the park lights on I guess.
I have ordered some Skoda Yet chrome tips off E-Bay for my Golf they cost around $59 shipped, they should look better than the ones I got from Supercheap. Skoda Yeti Chrome Twin Tailpipe End 5L0071910 VW Golf Scirocco GTI | eBay

Tracking indicates that my car has been offloaded from the Asian King and "delivered" to Melbourne. Any information from forum member's experience on how long from being offload to when the car will be in my hot hands?

If it goes through 'Patricks Auto' in the port then it typically takes a week ~ to pass customs and then the registration, checklist, confirm it passes Australian standards plus cleaning and adding any accessories you purchases which takes approx 2 days all going well. The customs if the big unknown, it just depends how busy they are.
So all up, a happy case should take around 7 business days.

Thanks for the info. Once that's all done then it has to be road freighted to Brisbane. Hopefully delivered before end August to qualify for 3 year free servicing

Have you been given a date yet? I should find out my delivery date tomorrow. I have been promised the free servicing regardless of delivery date.

No confirmed date as yet. The dealer has said the car should be in Brisbane by the end of this week. Hopefully will take delivery early next week.
My car arrives in Adelaide on Tuesday ready for what they call PD (pre delivery) This must be some sort of process as it takes a week after that until it's ready.

Pre-delivery can take some time as there may be quite a bit to do (including - gasp - possible minor repair work from transport damage). There's also the fitting of dealer accessories, window tinting, getting the car out of transport mode, having the PD inspection performed, and then the car must be cleaned and detailed. Often a dealer's PD department has quite a backlog, hence cars may be waiting for PD for a few days after they're delivered to the dealership.
