I'd like to give the dealer and subsequently the salesperson the benefit of the doubt for the time being (& not disclosing) in the hope things, my car is organised in a timely manner with better & constructive communication THIS TIME around.

I don't think this has been posted on here, so to let you know for all those with cars en route, there have been a few reports that an outbreak of Stink bugs have caused some delays for automotive parts, and tyres being shipped from the east coast ports of the United States (namely Savannah and Baltimore) and arriving in Australia on or after 23 February2015. (source from DOA). Some posts on other forums suggest it will extend their delivery for 2-4 weeks after quarantine run through their processes.

Dealer says he has enough cars to be transported so estimated delivery date Thursday or Friday this week. Hmm rear cross traffic alert. let's see. I guess I have to put my Q5 in line crossing golf rear. It would be fun if it didn't work.[emoji6]

From what I have seen in their overseas videos, you put the car in reverse and back out just a little bit. From that point on, any traffic crossing your rear path will result in a alert beeping tone in the car. Don't think there are visual warnings.

Congrats! That's awesome news!

For a week turnaround to Canberra that's quite impressive. You mustn't forget us.. keep us posted about all of your planned mods! Especially if you decide to go ahead on the mirrors! We have almost identical spec'd cars - so I must insist on pics! Mine landed yesterday and discharged this morning - fingers crossed for a scenario like yours!

I'm sure they have, knowing how close they park one from another on the decks

Thanks @timetaker, I was actually already using vesselfinder and an app on my phone for live positioning, just was disappointed our port doesn't have a live video feed to stalk!

I'm also with @PBJ, the only way I've found so far is the on the site we found the ship name on - 2wglobal tracking. I believe this only tracks when it comes off the ship and when it releases customs. Everything else is upto the dealer to disclose.

Once cars are unloaded they are picked up by Patrick Autocare for compliance modification; at this point only your dealer can track the progress of the car (via the Patrick portal, which requires a login). From there the car is trucked to the dealer or pre-delivery location for preparation for handover.

So no, you will need to chase up with your dealer from that point on.

Car got 'Delivered from Port Kembla' yesterday (Guessing yours was too @PBJ) - so I presume it is now with Patricks for compliancing. Contacted the dealer today who confirmed it would be delivered by EOM (at least 15 days early!), hopefully sooner depending when they can get it trucked up to Sydney and fit the OEM Towbar. Aiming for, albeit in my head, delivery late next week.
