Hi all,

I ordered a MY15.5 Golf R in Lipiz blue with all the fruit, including sunroof. I was originally quoted delivery in May/June but got a call today saying someone had cancelled exactly the same car and it will be available mid/late April.

I've been comparing the Skoda Octavia RS, Renault Clio RS and Golf GTI/PP and Golf R.

The wait on the Skoda was at least 7 months which is just insane and no adjustable dampers like the Golf. The Clio RS was a ball of fun to drive, but too small and cheap feeling inside.

This left the Golf triplets and after driving them all back to back, I couldn't go past the AWD and extra power in the R.

My last turbo car was the twin turbo RX7 and I can't wait! First VW too.

been waiting for my Golf R for the last 2 months, its on the Asian King which docks in Port Kembla on the 17th April, hoping it wont take long to get delivered to the dealer..
its pretty much all i can think about haha

Congrats on the Performance purchase @JamieHC! In love the colour choice also! Lucky you.... that someone was generous enough to take that extra 1 / 2 month wait off you.

Join the club with the thought of your new VW taking control over everything you do / think about... it's driven my family and partner almost as insane as I have become. I've actually had dreams about what it will be like on the first drive home. From what I can tell the wait times for delivery really vary from 1 week to 4 weeks after docking (the longest I've seen reported due to lack of supply of parts required for compliance). To add to the dates that everyone posted above, mine was docked on Sunday the 15th, Discharged Monday 16th at 7am, Delivered from Port Kembla (cleared customs) on the 18th, and now has a compliance date of the 19th. The rest is another separate variable based on your dealer supply chain, for example, for myself and @PBJ our cars had to go to a central VW pre-delivery centre before being transported to the dealer.

...we at least know our cars will get a truck filled up quicker since there's at least 2 going to North Shore Volkswagen.

Just letting you know mine is now booked for transport to North Shore VW tomorrow, sometime between 8am and 6pm, so will be taking delivery on Friday so they can wash it. I had the option to wait for the towbar to be installed when the parts finally came in, but chose to pick it up early for the weekend, and just drive into work dropping it off at the dealers next week to get the part fitted. Don't need a towbar until December anyway

Dealer was also kind enough to offer to come pick me up from the station himself to save the cab / walk to the dealership to finalise the papers!

I traded a Focus S DCT on the Golf, didn't want the inconsistent characteristics of a Dual clutch again.

Dont know if its the right section, but VW have increased the capped price servicing charges across their range.

Minor service is now a whopping $414 for the Golf!

I just got off the phone with my guy, he's confirmed 31st March delivery I'm a bit jelly you get yours before the weekend but I've got a few things to sort out and need a few more days before I can take delivery. Also damn, I was hoping our cars would be next to each other in the collection showroom bit

Yeah I've kinda tailed off on the excitement front - very odd. Pleased none-the-less and I'm sure I won't sleep tonight knowing its coming. Got the sneaky day off work to collect it to - even better! Mine was going to be delivered next week but instructed them to not do any of the work I'd initially wanted till a date next week as I'll need it for the weekend, including the towbar fitting. So it may be my fault we wont meet and admire each others cars next week Sorry!

I'll try and ask about the portal to see if it will get delivered before the March deadline.

The conditions of the cars' special prices say:
"price for new vehicles sold by 31 March 2015 and delivered by 30 April 2015"

my parked 1 year old golf got hit and written off by a sleeping doctor. After 2 month wait finally getting my new golf tomorrow! Its reflex silver with dap2 and rotary wheels. can't wait.

That's okay, neither did SkimR - that's a Mk6 Golf, not a Mk5 (which hasn't been sold since 2008 and has never had capped price servicing).
