I had a rattle in the dash and the dealer said it was not the Soundakator. I used an OBDeleven to turn the Soundakator off and the rattle went away. Three days and no rattle, crossing fingers.

Just got my OBD and cheap android phone, any recommendations?

I was going to go with black wheels when these tyres wear out, but the polished face is growing on me.

I did see an Indium Grey one go past me the other day with a set of these on (or similar) and it looked mad as.



Here they are on a blue one, but you get the idea.

I think they are one of those wheels that look good when clean, but I suspect they would show brake dust very quickly and be a bit of a PITA to clean.

Disabled start/stop (voltage method)
Lock/unlock arm/disarm alarm acknowledge with alarm chirp
Tap to indicate number of blinks (now 4)
Refuel amount in cluster (MFD)
Fan speed display on AC auto mode
High intensity brake lights (hazard lights/brake lights alternating on heavy braking)
Rear turn lights on when boot opens
Enable traffic Info (TMC) on the headunit.

Also the Harvey breaking one, I thought this was standard? Where is it located?

Try the pace car indicators and exhaust valves always open.

When you open the boot both the left and right rear indicator lights come on (not flashing). This feature was located in the pre-programed section (10 credits), of the OBDeleven app specific for my car. When you set up the app on your phone and make an account you specify your model down to the VIN.

Heavy braking activates the hazard lights (as standard). This feature alternates the hazard lights with the brake lights so you get a flashing red/yellow/red/yellow strobe effect...much more noticeable. Also located specifically for your model car in the pre-programed section of the OBDeleven app.

Did anyone who had rattles in their dash end up finding out what the problem was or got it fixed?

VW are pretty sure it isn't the Soundaktor and I'm hesitant to let these guys rip open my dash trying to find the problem.

Reading the R owners club in the Uk it seems to be fairly common - from the 7's right through..

Wally, had the rattle in my MY16. Took it to the dealer and they fixed as a known fault during a service. Issue low rpm load causing dash vibration against windscreen.

Not sure about VIC. I’ve only have mine a week and I’m surprised I haven’t been done. It’s amazing how quickly they pick up and carry the speed without really feeling like it.

Agree. Super quick. I took off the soundakator to help with the false sense of grunt. Now much calmer but feels like it’s lost something.
