Mate, as long as they're not Canary Yellow you're good. Not sure how the blue and white would go against a red or black car, though ...Originally posted by WallySimmonds View PostHey guys, what plates did you end up getting? Dealer is asking me if I want black and white or blue and white, but the B&W will cost an extra 120 bucks.
I'm not sure I care enough, but be interested to see what other people got (in VIC)2017 - Golf R 7.5 - Blue - DSG - Proper Roof - DAP - Res' delete - Dynaudio delete
2008 - Mazda 2 - (Maybe my first child scared me a bit) -1998 - Wrx (modded up to but not including forged pistons)
1988 - Corolla TwinCam - (couldn't insure a 323 Turbo)
1967 - Tonka Tip Truck - Red with 2 inch plastic rims and a massive sand scoop.

Indeed. I've got the Lapiz so probably not too bad with white/blue..
Next question is whether or not to use paint protection/correction. Will be swapping out in 3 years (probably) but my understanding is it looks a lot better and with the amount of dust going in my suburb I think it's probably not a bad idea. You got the pomponazzi didn't you Kachingg?
How much did it set you back?
I did paint protection with my Toyota 86 back in the day through the dealers and it was complete rubbish. So won't be doing that again. Hoping to find a tinter in Melbourne too.

Get slim line plates as a minimum- worth the extra $120- they come white on black or blue on white (the std Vic plates look crap on Euro cars): I have white euro plates which look really good on the White R.
IMO, paint correction a must; I had a Lapiz R which I couldn't get corrected/coated for a few months and it showed watermarks/dust/blemishes really clearly, post Opticoat the duco looked schmick and it was easy to care for.

I've chucked it in sport a few times but tbh I haven't really opened it up yet as most of my driving has been in the city.
I also haven't quite mastered ACC yet, although what I have seen of it so far tells me it'll definitely help with the daily grind.
I was really torn between the Grid and the fully R prior the purchase, but I know I've made the right choice - not really missing the leather as the standard seats are quite good. The traditional instrument cluster also looks the part so I'm glad I saved myself about 7 grand..

My consumption has averaged 12.5L/100km over 400km. Might be having a bit too much fun [emoji56]

Well I took it for a long 400km drive in the country today and averaged 8.5L/100km.
Hopefully it comes down a bit once it’s bedded down.
What a delightful car, except for the bloody dash rattle. Anyone else got a problem with rattles in the dash? [emoji36]

I went for drive into the Dandenong ranges from Chadstone, averaged just under 8. And changed from normal to race mode through the drive. I’m very happy with it. As compared to my old 335 which was around 10-12.Originally posted by Kachingg View PostAt a 30c a liter premium over normal petrol ouch
