Once I could zero in on the knee airbag it was easily fixed but before then it was a few frustrating trips back and forth

I'll check out the DVD case thing, tbh the rattle is extremely light and I have to be listening for it. For the most part I don't hear it.
I get the drive safe warning as well, goodness knows why it pops up every so often.
My last Golf had some issues with the multimedia unit powering off occasionally but it actually fixed itself after a while.
Given what I read about other cars I'm really not surprised that these things happen. The cars are all built to a price and QC probably means sfa these days. Interestingly enough, I've heard more bad things happen on S3's and Audi's in general than VW's.... I would have thought it would be the opposite.

I'll check the knee airbag next time it happens, the road has to be really bad but usually with stuff like this it progressively gets worse over time, I hope it doesn't. I did run a couple of dashcam wires behind the glove box so it could also be one of those rattling about.
Is the DVD case you guys mention the one that comes with the maps sd card? Because I think I threw mine in the bin after I bought the car.
Good to know I'm not the only one with the drive safe warning. Could be worse but, in the Mrs Honda the stupid warning covers the whole infotainment and won't let you do anything until you click OK.

Yep that’s the DVD case. I’ve basically stripped the car to narrow down the rattle. Got it booked in next Wednesday with the dealer. Pretty sure it’s the soundaktor, but it seems to come from a different spot (or several spots at the same time) every time I drive.
Thankfully no “dive safe” message. Unless I subconsciously ignore it lol. You can probably turn it off?
Also, not sure if anyone else with DAP has this, but mine’s got a button at the end of the indicator stalk. Click it once and the driver assistance menu appears. Click it again and it’s off! My MY16 didn’t have that. Perfect for turning the lane guidance on and off (I hate the feeling of not having total control of the steering, that and it tends to bounce between the lines rather than keep straight, but I keep going back to see if I’ll get used to it as I know it’s a good feature)

I have lane guidance off on mine. I haven't really played around too much with the ACC yet - still getting used to it. It seems like it could be useful in the stop start grind - but my understanding is you still have to push the accelerator to get it to take off when it comes to a complete stop?

Your Highline didn’t have DAP? You’re gonna LOVE ACC! Absolutely brilliant.

Found the button on the end of the indicator after about 700ks, so quick and easy. Always have the lane guidance off unless cruising on the highway. Scares the crap out of me in town when it jerks the steering wheel, its only subtle but it's like when the tyres pull you when you drive over partially laid asphalt with grooves.
Used Acc a fair bit. Fantastic in stop start traffic, either tap accelerator to restart the car from stop or tap the res button on the steering wheel. Awesome on the highway too.
Anyone had the red warning car flash in the centre display and the alarm go off like its warning you of a sudden impact, took me by surprise but both times I think the radar got a little confused.

Hard to tell from the video, but I’ve had that happen to me many a time. Were you getting a bit close to kermit-mobile?
My MY16 Trendline would slam the brakes, only happened a handful of times but it was infuriating. It’s like it didn’t trust me being a bit sneaky in traffic! The 7.5R seems to give a better warning without braking, allowing me to take control and prevent an emergency brake.
Has it slammed on the brakes for you yet?

Hasn't slammed on yet. It's only happened twice. Once in the city in heavy traffic with pedestrians on the footpath. I was in the lane closest to th pedestrians and it started going off, think it sensed them on the kerb looking to cross
That time in the video I think it thinks I'm going to hit all the cars in the right lane stopped to turn right. As I change into the right lane the road hooks left so technically I was on a straight trajectory to the cars stopped waiting to turn right but they were quite a distance away. Guess it's good that it's monitoring from so far away. I currently have the warning set to medium in the infotainment.
Only time it's slammed on the brakes has been in parking mode leaving a servo were the driveway dips down and road up. I thought for sure I'd scraped but crisis averted. With that said I have scraped the underside at the front and on the bottom on the front spoiler when the emergency brake failed. Lucky it can't be seen unless laying on the ground but still heart wrenching when it happened.
