So - confirmed with my dealer if I want Lapiz Blue with all options, I'll be waiting till April unless someone swaps something out. Pretty disappointing, but guess it's my own fault for trying to negotiate on price (although the response times of my lease company leave a lot to be desired).
I think I'll just wait until next year and see what comes up - April is getting pretty close to MY19, and you just know that the Dynaudio will eventually be an option.

Is this for standard or for Wolfsburg?
I was thinking the same re dynaudio. But now not sure if they will option it.
They didn't with the mk7 versions and if they did option it then it will raise the cost of the car more.
Time will tell of course. I'm pissed I'm going to miss out but alas, if I was going to wait till mid next year then I might as well wait for the mk8

'picked up my 7.5 R yesterday. First impressions are obviously, well, impressive. Without wanting to rev it out of course, first thing noticed is that low down pull. It's almost like a diesel from around 1500. Might be the direct injection making the difference. And I know what the the reviews say about Eco mode, but I reckon I'll make good use of it. I know, I know, "Why did you get a R" , ... blah blah. But I'm not going to fang around every time I'm in the thing, and there's plenty of pull to easily keep up with traffic, with the motor just chugging along lazily. Luvvin it.
Also luvvin radar cruise. Haven't used it in stop/start traffic yet, but certainly makes freeway driving truly relaxed. And the steering's fine - don't believe the nitpicking garbage on some of the reviews - they're just trying to look objective and pick on something.
Definitely not loving missing VW CarNet on the menu screen. Looks like they've pulled that on us, also. And that may mean we're also without hotspot. So, with all the other stuff they've yanked, I think VW have already released a stripper, "Grid" edition of the R. They just forgot to tell us.
2017 - Golf R 7.5 - Blue - DSG - Proper Roof - DAP - Res' delete - Dynaudio delete
2008 - Mazda 2 - (Maybe my first child scared me a bit) -1998 - Wrx (modded up to but not including forged pistons)
1988 - Corolla TwinCam - (couldn't insure a 323 Turbo)
1967 - Tonka Tip Truck - Red with 2 inch plastic rims and a massive sand scoop.

I thought we had CarNet?
When I was playing around with the system, I saw an option for wireless/CarNet and my dealer said you can connect connect your phone wirelessly to the HU and use the phone as a remote.
Is that what CarNet is? Never had it before.
Also photos Steve, Photos!

Oops - yep -forgot the shots. I'll try and get some different views and angles that haven't been posted yet after work today.
But CarNet is a direct link from the car's systems to the WLAN thru it's own SIM card and 4g, providing everything from status reporting back to dealer to "geo-fencing" your kids from driving outside an pre-defined area. But it appears from this page that not many of it's services are available here. ...

I can't even find the bloody ignition lock for use if the remote's battery dies. Wifey laughed her tits off.
It was in the garage at night, with the lights out, in my defence.

The car tells you well in advance when you need to change the battery on the fob. It notifies you every time you get in the car.
Current:
2023 Mk2 Tiguan R - Lapiz Blue
2015 Mk7 Golf R Wolfsburg - Limestone Grey: Stage 2
Gone but not forgotten: 2008 Polo GTI Shadow Blue
