I'm with revster. I'm a big fan of the 19s. They look great (in my view) and performance is incredible. Want a bit more comfort, the suspension comfort setting makes it velvet smooth. Want to tear strips in the bitumen while cornering... then you can do that too. I wouldn't change the 19s for anything smaller diameter as it just isn't necessary. As for hitting bump stops? Nah, never had this. And that includes "spirited" runs on highly questionable surfaced country back roads. They just grip forever while providing a ride that can be anything from magic carpet to rocket sled. What more could you want?

2017 Volkswagen Golf R 7.5 review | MOTOR
One of the negative comments relates to those enormous wheels wheels we'll be testing with our potholed roads. Anyone with a Mk7 had problems with their 19s ? And is anyone considering going back to 18's, after more than one review has the R hitting it's bump stops on more than one occasion during the review ?
I have no adaptive suspension but still find the ride just fine it does crash over a big pothole but no different to my old mark 6 highline with 16 inch wheels and 55 sidewalls if anything it rides a bit better
Imo they had to find something to pick on just did the vw experience on Phillip Island today and the r is a fantastic car better than the gti by far drove both back to back around the track gti feels lacking in torque to me or maybe its the dq 381 7 speed the r and my alltrack share that makes the difference?(the torque in the alltrack feels vry much like the r up to 50-60kph then pure bhp takes over of course)
Both defiantly feel more like much more torque is being put down more than the 30nm that the gti is lacking or is it the haladex awd system that makes the difference?2017 Golf Alltrack 135tdi All options

All the UK reviews I read said if you tick the 19" optional wheels, make sure you also tick the DCC and all will be good. Seeing as the 19" and DCC are standard here, it will be fine.

I'm thinking of going with PS4s when I need new boots... Great reviews on them including from mates with them on their cars - always a good starting point. Agreed the Conti's make a little noise on some coarse chip seal roads, but I find them pretty good in every other respect.
Would be tempted to throw PSC2s on there if it wasn't a daily for me, but would be changing them with alarming regularity if I did that I suspect...
