I think the ALG actually keeps you in the middle of the lane. I turned mine on and it went through a curve pretty neatly. Shame it can't be turned on below 60km/hr

I just drove a demo R with ALG, it won't keep you in the centre of the lane, it will bounce you from one side to the other slowly. Nice safety feature though for when the mind wanders.

Hmm mine actually kept me in the middle but I might be wrong since the highway quite narrow

        • I know the MY17 Golf R (7.5) come with rear windows tinted (or is it privacy glass) Either way the front 2 windows are not tined at all, so I am thinking of getting mine all tinted - has anyone done this on their R yet - or should I just get the fronts tinted?

          • Rear is privacy glass. Most folks just tint the fronts and get it matched to the back. The tinting people will tell you the privacy glass does not repel heat, so needs to be tinted with a clear film to stop heat passage, or with a "normal" tinted film that makes it even darker, and cannot be matched then to the front windows.

I cannot say if it is any less hot with or without tint on the rear, because you don't notice it in winter, and it's always bloody hot up here in summer regardless...

Agree - you can feel it steering consistently through bends.

Get a lighter tint on the rear windows and darker front so as to match all round this is the best combination, had this on my two R's

                              • The stock speakers I would say are the same as Mark 7 Golf (we have a MY16 Highline also)
Would have loved DynaAudio but not worth IMO the extra $ to pay for a wolfy.

Need to investigate adding a stand alone SubWoofer in the back - anyone have any suggestions for doing this (DYI) without spending a fortune - say $500-$600?
