Touch up paint for Golf R Wolfsburg Oryxweiss code "L0K1" apparently VW will no longer supply this item. I managed to get a bottle with internal brush touch up kit from Autobarn, they had to mix to spec. I'm ready for those bloody stone chips.

Yeah, sounds about right. Mazda stopped supplying it a few years ago too (when I had my CX-7) and sent me to Autobarn. Haven't been back to a dealer since to buy touch-up.

Heads up on the Wolfsburg R, I've done 3500km now did an interstate run of 2750km the rest city and local driving. Car is fantastic build quality fit and finish is good some cosmetic components look a bit lighter than the MK6 but a glance under the car reveals some pretty serious build quality alloy bearing housings on all four wheels and numerous sensors and suspension and drive control elements pretty amazing for a 60K hot hatch, it's obvious there has been some serious development work put into the R the 15 to 20K premium over the premium lower Golfs is well worth the extra money. The motor is a fire cracker you can crawl around a car park like a normal Golf but at press of the right pedal it doesn't take long to realise this is a cracker motor. Fuel economy is sitting right on 8.0L/100km over the 3500km best open road 7.1L/100km worst city with air-con 11.5L/100km coming from a diesel MK6 those figures don't seem to good but when you factor in the performance on tap it's very reasonable. The ride in normal mode is acceptable in most conditions course bitumen does create a bit more tyre noise with the 235/35 profile 19inch wheels but overall the car is pretty quiet particularly at speed the aerodynamics are impressive even over the MK6 the car feels glued to the road at speed. Even cruising 100-110kph negotiating slow traffic and overtaking are a breeze you won't be stuck behind slow traffic for long, the overtaking ability is formidable. So first impressions are in a way it's overkill for everyday use but as mentioned it's a breeze to drive a great place to be in and if you can find a nice piece of road [without speed cameras] to stretch it's legs a ripper drive with huge levels of passive safety.

Understand mirrorlink mirrors the screen on your mobile (android) phone. Are there any limitations to what it won't replicate on car's screen? e.g. can you can play video (e.g. youtube, chanel 7 app etc) on your mobile and watch on car's screen? Only work with handbrake on in this case?

Touch up paint was $14.95, I also suggest a very fine brush for a few dollars.

I dont think you can for safety reason.

noticed this on my front left tyre looks like a nail breezed the edge of the tyre yet didn't touch the rim $400 for a new one has me puzzled how it occured can't remember hitting anything. Anyone else seen this kind of damage without hitting anything

Some gutters have protruding metal plates where a drain part is to support the top concrete,I took a chunk out of my tyre on one of those trying to park mm from gutter..

Curiosity got the better of me put the Wolfsburg R Hatch on a weighbridge the other day it came in at 1520kg with a full tank no driver seems close to the manual 1495kg possibly 3 door 18" wheels.

Could be right, though I thought the front badge would have 'line' next to it like some other models? Easy to change though, I suppose. He turned at the intersection, so didn't get a proper look. The one up ahead was definitely an R.

It does look like it has the right wing mirrors though.
