Made the right choice good read, not all about the power
I bought the mag when it came out. Interesting that our babies came out no1 based on performance only (max speed, braking, 0-100, 80-100 etc). I love my R for these reasons, but mostly about the daily drive, the quality finish compared to Aus cars, the sheer adjustability of many aspects of the car depending on conditions/my mood. An amazing result, but based purely on performance!
I really like this splitter & the price until I asked how much to ship to aus. $200 euro, more than the splitter itself. Anyone know of any local options that don't cost a thousand bucks?
I should be getting My R on Monday and thinking about getting this front lip. Has anyone tried it? Flow Design. The Maxton Lip that was on that blue R a few pages back looks sweet in that photo but I have seen other photos of the same lip and it looks a bit too thick and chunky for my liking. This flow design looks similar but slightly thinner I think, although I haven't seen enough photos of it on other cars.

That looks awesome!
I always feel that the R is missing something,
looks perfect from behind. Front/side is missing something.. This lip, solves everything
I want my car to be original, but I will be getting something like this later on...

I totally agree with you mate. I think this will be my first purchase after receiving my R this Monday, hmm the only other question is, whether to buy the side skirts as well....hmmmm..............????
I think i might bight the bullet next week and buy both. At around $800 for front lip and side skirts it still works out cheaper then a name brand front lip.

With all respect to Flow Design that looks like an afterthought, it just doesn't look right on that car. They make great looking lips for JDM cars and some Euro's but that front lip on the MK7 R is not right.
If you want a proper lip for your car, get the RevoZport one. Lots more expensive but the quality is great.
Other option is to go with the Kerscher Tuning front lip (see below):

All the comments above are just my opinion and everyone has different taste so just go with whatever floats your boat
I do like the Revoz, that was my original plan before I found the Flow. The Revoz is nice but the blue or red (depends which one you choose) on it looks shocking. You have to either paint it black or remove it all together like Josh has done. The other problem with paying 1100 plus delivery for a front lip is that it's definately going to get damaged. It's going to get scraped, scratched and cracked sooner or later.
On the other hand the Kerscher lip just looks fugly in my honest opinion. It doesn't follow the contours of the bottom of the bumper and those gaps just look funny. I did see another brand which I can't remember right know, which was very similar to the Kerscher but it actually didn't leave the funny looking gaps at the bottom and it looked a better fit for the 7R.
im definately going with the Flow front lip, I'm just not sure if I will also add the side skirts but I think I will buy them to test to see if I like it.

I've had big day today and had lots of mods done/installed by Dean at Fast Stuff.
I had the GFB DV+ installed which is fantastic and has fixed the turbo flutter sound. (highly recommend)
I had the Harding Performance DSG tune installed and it's a great improvement, much better gear selection in D mode, no hesitation at all now on take off and Highly improved the Race mode, toning it down so it's now usable. (highly recommend)
I had the APR turbo muffler delete installed TBH not sure what it's done but I was changing Turbo pipes so no intall cost to add.
Now to some bad! The spulen boost pipe kit was a nightmare to install and not great set up. Took hours to get it in and didn't fit with VWR intake. Had to swap to APR intake which fit well, so now have APR intake but kept VWR intake path so best of all worlds, direct air flow into APR intake. Will now sell the VWR intake. I would say stay away from Turbo outlet pipes!
The overall combo is amazing, super responsive and no hesitation at all on take off. I drove Deans car which has stage 2 set up and DSG tune but stock pipes/DV and I immediately noticed mine felt more responsive. Definitely no need for stage 2 for me and now completely happy! Car is just super responsive, sounds fantastic and more than enough power!
Sounds great mp2811. Im also waiting for my DV+ to arrive to grow with my growing list of mods
Think what is next for me is a BBK or upgraded rotors/pads as i do like to do the occasional track day. No good having the extra power and not being able to stop the car.

Sekas, you have great list of mods! Yep definitley would look at brake upgrade if tracking car. Maybe sway bars too? add bit better handling to your Springs.
Cheers.
Yer there is a couple of things happening behind the scenes with my car sponsor(RD Technik) in terms of car builds so sway bars may be a tax return buy whilst i wait for them to confirm and finish off their current cars (mk6 R and Audi TTS)
Still just weighing up the cost for a BBK or not.

Drop links or sway bar links for me was more for track purposes, by lengthening/shortening them i can more get the car to do what i prefer on the track by playing with them until i feel a good midpoint between oversteer/understeer for my driving style by varying the load on the ARB.
I pasted the link for the VWR brochure which has more details but they recommend it if you have a lowered car and plan on pushing it to its limits. Adjustable Drop Links - Volkswagen Racing
