Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Go fast bits finally arrived today, intake and boost tap.

Only fitted the intake as I have to find a way of routing the boost tubing into the cabin somehow :/ if anyone has any tips, please let me know??

But back to the intake, this thing is insane, no real noticeable power gains measured by just driving it but the sound is just as I imagined if not better, disconnected the soundaktor to make it more noticeable and wow, an exhaust system would really compliment this.
coming into high rpm, induction sound is amazing and can really hear the turbo when you let off. WICKED COOL

Thanks mate, I bought a $6 bluetooth dongle and the Torque app for $4.95 to see how much I would potentially get out of it for now

          • Mk7 APR Boost gauge!!

            Hey guys

Have recently bought the Boost Tap from Apr and in anticipation for the release of the gauge I was wondering if anyone had hooked up a different gauge to their boost tap and if so, where did you route the boost tubing etc. any help would be great.

            Thanks in advance

                  • Hey, has anyone posted anything from the latest Motor Magazine Australia? The article is on best bang for your buck performance cars from $50 - $100k, and the Golf R is in the top 21, then top 8, but I won't spoil it for you beyond that. Trying to work out how to post photos... Hopefully soon.

Had it for a few hours and called me to tell me some clips were broken or missing and that some hose was loose and that was causing the noise. They fixed it up and said the noise was gone... drove out of the lot and still have the noise... anyone able to help out?
Hey everyone, I've had a vibration noise coming out of my golf for a while and they finally fixed. Said it was a loose/rattling fuel line that would vibrate in low revs as I was decelerating/braking so they insulated all around it and finally that stupid vibration noise is gone!!! Sounded to me like it was in the door but was in the chassis below me. Anyways, if anyone here still has the noise I had, get it checked out and should be an easy fix
