Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Low and behold, it was another disappointment from the dealership and I disabled it when I got my VAGCOM cable.
The Soundaktor was pretty much 100% why I chose the non-resonated due to loving the noise but after disabling it the car changed.
Still really debating the Catback Vs Turboback install since I have no knowledge of what current ECU's are like. I remember it was somewhere round 04~05 where STi's needed a tune but am adamant that a bugeye was fine without a tune, i.e. no boost creep etc.
Guessing a '14 Golf is going to be the same where running a Turboback without the tune would be detrimental and my options would be do Catback > Tune > Downpipe or to simply way for the tune to be ready...

If you want more noise, just installing your cat-back for now. Though for a lot of people non-resonated systems are a little too much for daily driving (speaking from personal experience).

Being 26 and unmarried I think I can get away with the non-resonated for a bit and right it off as a rumbunctious period...

I'd recommend going resonated if you must do the full exhaust, otherwise you can get away with a non-resonated downpipe usually without an issue.
As tigger73 said the Mk6s would chuck a CEL with the downpipe swap which was coded out on a stage 2 tune. I assume Mk7s would do the same although interestingly exhausts have been available for a lot longer than the tunes generally so either people aren't caring or are managing to avoid the CEL with a spacer that actually works (they rarely did what they were supposed to on the Mk6).

Sekas or others with Dsg tune, how has drive ability changed? I'm starting to get annoyed at being in 6th at 60-65km/h and don't want to be driving around in manual mode all the time. I find it's a gear or 2 out most of time especially when looking to accelerate. Reading info and reviews I think it fixes this up a fair amount. Also want to get it to increase torque settings, clutch gripping to match tune as guessing APR tune will take torque to well over 500nm.
Also how is the sound of the APR intake? Can't find anything online yet showing it on Golf R?
