I spoke to Akrapovic and they said there is nothing on a mk7 golf r as yet, but they said stay tuned.

                • Thanks, that wasn't that one I was searching for.

This is the one :- R Forum • View topic - R mk7 Turbo failure!

Following the UK link Sekas provided in Post 2281, there seems to be lots of posts about turbo issues with the Mk 7 Golf R with people vowing not to modify the engines of the R with "known" turbo issues.

I haven't heard of any turbo issues in Australia, has anyone else?

                  • ^ No known R turbo issues in Oz to date. I have read about this on a number of forums and it is theorised that there was possibly a faulty Euro batch. (NB. my take on the Poms is that many are ++risk averse re warranty implications and wouldn't consider tuning in any case so the "turbo" issue gives them an out). So nothing to worry about at this stage IMO.

                    • Not sure if this is R-specific but it is to me.

Does anyone else have the rear seatbelts flap around making a horrible noise with the front windows down?

Thinking I might have to do them up just to stop the noise, never had it in any other BMW, Holden, Kia, Mitsubishi kr Toyota I have owned.

The rear belts will loosen up with age and stop doing it I have been told by dealership, yet to see this happen though, sitting on 8500km

Thanks, glad to know I'm not alone.

Not sure how they will loosen up with never being used...

Might try to source some black felt/foam to stop the noise.

                              • Has anyone done a 0-100 or seen one done in a manual r yet??
I am very sceptical about it being only 0.3 seconds slower in real life as it is on paper, would have to shift every gear perfect and amazingly quick, there was a write up a while ago of a guy in a mk6 r trying to match the quoted times of 0-100 and could only get within .4 of a second. And he was rowing though gears something chronic
