Question to the forum before pulling the trigger on an exhaust from the UK.
Looking to get the Milltek Turbo-back non-resonated exhaust as per the below;
Milltek Sport Exhaust Volkswagen Golf MK7 R 2.0 TSI 300PS Turbo-back including Hi-Flow Sports Cat (SSXVW256)
Considering there is no tune available at the moment I am contemplating purchasing the full turbo-back then only installing the cat-back components until the tune becomes ready.
As far as I can tell, the turbo-back purely adds your downpipe, cat and front connecting pipe so should be fine to only part install? Confirming there would be no issues with that?
Incase that website is not playing nicely the cat-back system consists of;
MSAU618REP - Centre Silencer Delete Pipe
MSTIP160 x4 - Cerakote Black Velvet Oval Tips
MSVW418 - Rear Silencer Assembly
And the turbo-back;
MSAU616 - Large-bore Downpipe and 200 CPSI Hi-Flow Sports Catalyst
MSAU617 - Front Connecting Pipe
MSAU618REP - Centre Silencer Delete Pipe
MSTIP160 x4 - Cerakote Black Velvet Oval Tips
MSVW418 - Rear Silencer Assembly
So hopefully should just be fine to install the above bolded components in bold from the full system?

As they are the same part number it should be fine you will just have to make sure that they are actually flange mounted and not one continuous piece or tubing. Or else you will have to cut/weld more than once which could but probably won't have an effect on the sound or flow rate, but depending on the person doing the job, it could2014 Limestone Grey Mk7 Golf R

But you seem to have come to the same conclusion as me and Milltek state that everything is an OEM replacement that does not require modification so heres hoping they dont include some sort of reducer that is required to hook up to the stock cat.

Because they say it is a larger inside diameter dump then somewhere along the line it will have to reduce, that is what you have to find out but I dare say that if they sell a cat back and also a full with same part numbers I reAckon it is reduced after the cat.2014 Limestone Grey Mk7 Golf R

Some guys on the UK forums are complaining about the 'drone' their R makes on a trailing throttle. Some are getting extra resonators fitted to try to tame it. None of the complainers seem to have owned a Mk 6 prior to getting the Mk 7.
Anyone here had a Mk 6 R and find their Mk 7 droney?
I strongly suspect it's a design feature but they won't listen lol.Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.

Can anyone give me an idiot's guide to the automatic dipping of the side mirrors when reversing? Not sure what I am missing or if it is even supposed to work in the R, I mean it is enabled in the menu but no dice.
Edit: So the manual is written for LHD and states to set the knob to R whereas for RHD you need to set it to L from my quick search! Oh if only the car wasn't so far away in the garage.Last edited by jonoz; 24-10-2014, 08:42 PM.

These UK guys are driving me nuts. After complaining about the exhaust noise, now they're saying you can't heel and toe in the manual Mk 7 R! I'm not sure if anyone out here has a manual yet but please check on this if you do.
I suspect none of them know what they are on about because the same naysayers also state you can't do heel toe in a Mk 6 which is absolute bull****. I do it multiple times every day.
Edit: I've looked elsewhere and found some Mk 7 owners who can actually drive confirm heel toe is still possible. Panic averted. Clearly some people just can't drive and should stick to DSG. Not that there's anything wrong with DSG before I get flamed or accused of starting another forum war.Last edited by Paul_R; 25-10-2014, 08:08 AM.Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
