Might be a dumb question but has anyone had their 'Coming Home' lights set to on but the lights don't come/stay on after the engine shuts down? I've got mine set to 15 seconds but the lights goes off immediately after the engine shuts down. Weird.Driving: Golf R Mk7 MY14 - Pure White, DSG, Leather, DAP and Sunroof

I assume it's like the mk6, you have to give the indicator stalk a quick pull (think highbeam flash) as you get out. That will initiate the "coming home" for the duration you set in the MFD.Originally posted by anduril View PostMight be a dumb question but has anyone had their 'Coming Home' lights set to on but the lights don't come/stay on after the engine shuts down? Ahh thanks - I'll have to check that out later. Never owned a Mk6 that explains itOriginally posted by Adrian_R View PostI assume it's like the mk6, you have to give the indicator stalk a quick pull (think highbeam flash) as you get out. Must be same on the GTI. The light in the garage is on the blink and was wondering why I was getting no joy on that either.Originally posted by anduril View PostAhh thanks - I'll have to check that out later. Never owned a Mk6 that explains it

Yes the lights are on auto. It comes on when I use the fob to unlock the door (leaving home) but not when I get out of the car after stopping the engine.Originally posted by DoggieHowser View PostAre the lights on Auto?
So I've just tried this and it worked. Flashed the high beam (weird that I have to do this everytime?) and open the doors, lights came on for 15 secs. If only there's a way to make sure it comes on everytime the driver door opens after the engine stops that'd be great.Originally posted by Adrian_R View PostI assume it's like the mk6, you have to give the indicator stalk a quick pull (think highbeam flash) as you get out. My coming home lights work as soon as I open the car door. No need to flash the main beam. I don't remember having to code it to do this. Just set it in the MFD.2010 Candy White Golf GTI 5Dr. Manual, RNS-510, Bluetooth, Tints, GT-CX 18 Gloss Black Rims.

apologies if this has been asked before but has ab=nyone removed or disabled the "sound actuator" on their new Golf R?
I drove an R yesterday and all i can say is that if i wanted a car that sounded like a WRX with an aftermarket exhaust i would but a WRX with an aftermarket exhaust......
appreciate others thoughts on this.

I have read that it can be somehow disabled, and Iv read from people on international forums that they have, but no details have emerged. E.g can it be done yourself? Or is it a dealer/service job only? I too would be interested in switching it off.Originally posted by stephenR View Postapologies if this has been asked before but has ab=nyone removed or disabled the "sound actuator" on their new Golf R?
