My dealer said it doesn't have electric seats. Is that right? $67k and manual seats?!

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah few here seem to be saying the same about the white, defnately my fav colour but haven't seen one in white yet actually I haven't seen any R's yet lol
going by the pics posted few weeks back I can't say I like the Front look of the New R has lost its aggressive look, especially the chrome strip on the front grill don't know what they where thinking there, but make my mind up when I see one, not like I'm buying one just posting out of interest

For those in VIC, Berwick Audi have a demo S3 w/ performance pack that they're keeping for test drives and not selling (for now). I drove it this afternoon, unlike the Golf R this has 18" rims and I immediately felt a subtle improvement in suspension when changing to comfort (drive select/magnetic ride). Wasn't super comfy but I could live with it. The power and sound and pedal responsiveness were fantastic though.
Contrast that with a VW dealer I visited who didn't want to give me more than 5 minutes of their time unless I was going to order an R there and then.
So if you're interested make an appointment (I dealt with Kostas, feel free to say I sent you there), and make sure you're familiar with some twisty roads in Upper Beaconsfield if you're a keen driver.
The only slight let-down for me were the buttons and wheel used to interface the MMI - they were a bit more audibly "clicky" that what I was expecting, I thought they would be softer. But that's probably just me.

Neither Golf nor A3 have memory seats! Can't understand why. Should be standard at these prices.Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
Current:- Amarok V6 Sportline; Mazda CX-9 Azami AWD
Previous - Mk 6 R manual; Mk 7 R manual; Passat 130 TDi Wagon. Mk 7.5 Wolfsburg Wagon.

Manual seats are quicker to adjust and suit me fine. If anything I'd only prefer the back angle adjustment to be electric instead of having to reach for the rotary knob. But for adjust the rail position manual is fine.

Wrx are rubbish imo, cheap interior boring body, Subaru had the market & let it go years ago, shame really.. But saying that they have come in at a much fairer price then before 10k off old price, bad luck for those with the old model though lol

Not sure what is wrong with VW sales people, walked into Audi dealership, wearing just 3/4 pants, polo, and sneakers, "can I test drive the S3 please", just need a copy of your license please, here are the keys, have fun. Went to VW dealership, can I test drive the Golf GTI, sure, copy license, and he takes me out on the test drive, he tells me "we have to come along so we can limit the amount of kms put on the car".
And last weekend, Audi Centre Canberra had a loan RS4 Avant from Audi Australia, can I take that out for a spin, sure, here you go! And that is a $150k + motor vehicle!

Mean while most local Skoda dealer gave me the keys and said try not to wear out the front tyres too much.
I find VW dealers somewhere in between, with pretentiousness increasing logarithmically as you get closer to a CBDMY16 Octavia RS 162 Race Blue Combi
MY12 Skoda Octavia RS 147 Black Combi - Sold

talking of colors my dealer does have a red R meeting my specs (DSG, driver assist and leather), looks pretty sharp I must say and will be relatively rare. Thoughts? (and yes I do like white but am trying to "break out" of the whitegoods brigade if possible
