6sp DSG is pretty reliable these days. Or get a manual. They are a sweet shifting box.
Thanks for the reply mate! Yea well I suppose that makes sense. As for the transmission, I have to buy an auto as I had a brain op quite a few years back so I have a restricted license. I can only drive auto and haven't got full function of my left hand/arm.

In regards to your reply which was the last midel of the mk 6?
As per my previous reply to you here, the last Mk6 GTI was MY13. Mk7 production started at the very tail end of 2012.

            • Hi, Interested in opinions here: how much do you think the following is worth:
              - white 2011 Golf GTI DSG
              - tartan
              - 6 months rego
              - no other options
              - 55k kms

redbook says $21,200 - $23,800 is that realistic as every car seems over priced compared to the redbook valuation.

              thanks in advance!

              • Sounds about right. I'm paying 19,500 for a white 2010 GTI Manual with 140k km. Seems high but the car is in great condition and drives really well. It's a more rural car which has done mostly highway KM.

It's a 3 door manual with sunroof, so already hard enough to come by. I'm happy with the price given it's scarcity.

                • Redbook pricing does not take into account any factory options i believe.

Redbook is based on average sale prices, so the range takes into account variable factors including options.

                    • Used Golf R History

Hi, am interested in upgrading to a 2nd hand Golf R.

                      This one : 2012 Volkswagen Golf R VI Auto 4MOTION MY12.5

Is for sale locally. Has APR tailpipes and an ECU upgrade.

Surely the previous owner is on here and can tell me a bit more about it?

                      Feel free to PM me..

                      Thanks!

                        • I was also looking for an used mk6 R locally over the last few weeks, too, luckily I found one from a dealer up north QLD, I didn't consider this black one as I was looking for one as factory as possible
I hope you get yours soon!

                            • GOLF MK6 GTI should I?

                              Hi guys,

Just sold my MY10 MSPORT E90.. Was boring as heck, now looking to get into a mk6 gti or even a R..

Theres one that caught my eye, but it has a list of mods, like a revo stage 2 diverter valve etc.. Now Im not the best in cars but I have read/heard that mods like these can reduce car reliability/length? Is this true and how safe etc is it?

Also, my spending limit is around 35K mark, what do you guys think? MK6 R or Mk7 gti? Or I can pocket 10k and get a gti..

                              Thanks
