My bad.....$90 each - in my head that was $90 for the set. Oh well. This is starting to add up. It's like my karting - whenever I go into the shop they ask if I want the receipt as most guys tell them to put it straight in the bin...........hide it from the wives!

If you have purchased the R-Dash ones, why don't you try them out before splurging on OEM ones? Honestly, don't think you will find it too bright - photos exaggerate it.

I intend to try them first... actually, I've got just the bulbs ordered as well (hopefully arriving today!) as well as the R-Dash lights! I'm just worried about attracting too much attention out there (it's bad enough driving a car with DRL's in a small town, let alone a GTI with BRIGHT LP lights). I'm just preparing myself for the decision, should they be too bright... and I'm also worried about the "Resistor Unit" overheating inside the bumper. I do a lot of long night drives and don't want the thing heating up and causing damage!

I assume the OEM units will not have these problems... $180 is a lot, which is why I'm trying the other options out first, but if DDTW's experiment works, I might give it a go!

You should buy a Kart. A lot of fun! Can make it as expensive or as cheap as you want. I use the word "cheap" loosely!

I use that term loosely as well... along with the term "relatively". Ie. Darling, the GTI is relatively cheap compared to the...

OK... R Dash lights arrived this morning (in a record 5 days... including a weekend!).

Question to those who have installed them... what did you install the Resistor Box to? Did you attach it to the cables or to the light unit... or something else?

So in the pack - you'll have the resistor box, a Y cable, and the LED lights.

One end of the Y cable goes into your VW power socket (where the OEM lights were plugged into). Then the Y splits into the resistor box, and the LED lights themselves.

I then just pushed the whole lot up into the cavity of the bumper, and clicked the LED lights in place.

Yes... you did answer, but I assumed it would be "Obvious" where the Resistor Box goes (and I was hoping for a diagram with the package on how to install!)... and it's not, well not to me anyways!

I'll just install them... and see how I go! What can go wrong, right?!

Lights installed!!! It was rather easy... don't know what you were all so worried about!

I must say... they look FANTASTIC! Definitely not too bright... I'm not even going to contemplate the OEM ones!

My Globes that I ordered 2 weeks ago from the UK STILL haven't arrived! Have to find another use for them now...
