You will figure it out when you do it. I just bundled it up along the main connector wiring - my goal is not to have the box swinging loose on its own.

... what about a Video as well?!

That was what I was worried about... having that box swing around in the back! That... and the brightness level of the lighting. I'm just worried it will attract too much attention! Can't hurt to give it a try though!

Here are mine - the exact same R Dash ones. I can confirm - absolutely no errors.

The new look - don't let the "brightness" fool you. They look very VERY bright in this photo - but they're actually really good.

It's literally a 5 minute install job. Almost no tools needed. I just had to use a flat head screw driver to push out a tab to remove the OEM bulb holder. As for the transformer box - I just tucked it up inside the bumper. No problem.

How long did they take from ordering to delivery? Do you have a link? Price?

I paid for them on June 17th, and they were dispatched the very next day. But Australia post only notified me of their arrival yesterday. My local post office is useless with these things (as I live a fair way out of the city) - so their service isn't as prompt as you'd hope. had bad experiences previously with T10 bulbs on other cars, they used to flicker/stop working etc after a month or so.. anyway these look like a decent design.

FYI update, drove around this morning with the lights on and no problems or error codes to report of! In the early hours of this morning they look quite good and are not overly bright

Those heat tank thingys attached to the lights, are they just getting pushed into the bumper cavity? I had to put these resistors on my trailer that had LEDs that brought up error lights in my Skoda, and they get seriously hot. Like burn you hot. My concern would be what they would come into contact with in the cavity and what they may burn/melt etc

I've just installed it. It's too bright! I need to make some mods to lower the brightness because it's stealing the thunder from my R tails.

It was mentioned somewhere that led numberplate lights for the gti were standard on the MY11.5. Anyways, that is incorrect.

If the gti can be recoded with the VAGCOM for the R taillights, why can't the same be done for the numberplate lights if we were to use a led equivalent bulb replacement?
