I suppose we could compile a wish list of things that we would like to have on our VW and see if they are similar. Some features are totally unnecessary yet others are quite useful. I havents found the position of the wiper and indicator stalks to be a problem as all my previous cars have been european. Things like Dual climate controls are IMO a bit silly though...MY19 Polo GTi 2.0 DSG

The main thing I am really going to miss from my current car is electric seats with memory. My wife is 5' tall and I am 5'10, so our seat positions are vastly different. Hopefully MK7 golf will get this as an option.MY11.5 Golf 118TSI DSG - United Grey, Sports pack (cloth), Bluetooth, MDI

ETA. I'm with those calling for auto fold mirrors. To be honest, I would have expected that to be standard.Audi S3. Sold

Wait, there's no motorized folding mirrors on the Mk VI?
The MkV just had an extra notch on the left/right toggle knob to tuck them in. Not that they do much good cos they still stick out a fair bit.
Unless you are referring to those like on my old Mitsubishi Evo and i where I could "double click" the lock button on the remote key and it would fold the mirrors in. Also nifty was that they auto opened when you went up above 30km/h. But that's something a lazy git like me thought was a bit gimmicky.

True... but the reduction of 5cm width on one side of your car ain't going to help with those types of drivers
In the end, we can't have everything. Just look around the forums at all the people complaining that maybe VW's are priced too high (oh wait, this thread, lol), or that there are too many options, or that if VW only reduced the number of variables that wait times would be lower, or why doesn't VW have BT and MDI standard (they do now on some models), or ipod cables standard, or various other features as options or standard, etc etc.
The Golf would cost $100k if they included everything that everyone says they shouldLast edited by Corey_R; 26-05-2011, 12:06 PM.

Except that when there's an attendant helping pump the petrol, I lock the car, then walk in to the shop and browse the magazine section for a bit.
The fuel flap can still be closed after refueling, while the car is locked but just can't be opened again.
I expect if my overpriced Nissan can do this, no reason why a Golf GTI can't.
I am a bit curious about what to do with the cap though. On the R35, there's a nylon fishline looking string holding it to the car and there's a little "holder" on the flap to keep it there while fueling.
I recall my father-in-law's MkV doesn't. Looks like they still overlooked this for the VI?

Is there not 4 slots in the rim of the fuel cap so that you can hang it on the outside of the fuel flap?
Seems odd the golf would have the same cap stowage as the Skodacarandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
