Pretty rude getting rid of the DSG 77TDI, that model really should've received the same upgrades the 90TSI did, and it would become a great package. Would really have shafted the Hyundai i30 CRDi.
Though have noticed BlueMotion Golfs getting around Mascot, obviously this is designed to replace the 77TDI. Some people may not want the body kit though.
They will keep the 77TDI DSG and replace the manual version with the BlueMOtion (which is manual only afaik)
What's the point of the Scirocco now that the New New Beetle has been released? They're both on the Golf chassis, they're both 2/3 door, they're both in the same price category, same engines, etc. They both fill the same space.
My prediction.
Australia has missed it's chance for the Scirocco. We'll be getting the New New Beetle instead
Hence why the 3dr R has been dropped. Would confuse people so they change to 2 different R models with diff configs/pricing.
Just gotta make sure mine doesn't get wiped out now, 5 door sucks and the rocco looks horrible from the middle back hehe.
Now there you go again...offensive anti-5 door comments....i think he was suffering boredom today!
One day you will need a 4/5 door when you have all those kids you have been speaking of!

Aaah well.... I'm not too teared up about it all. I'd never contemplate buying a Scirocco in its current shape because I just don't like its looks at the rear, and it doesn't meet my practicality requirements as far as being able to cart things around with.
But then, I don't NEED to contemplate a Scirocco because I already have my Golf R in 3 door and therefore won't be looking at a new car until the current generation of cars have all been replaced anyway. Who knows... my next car will probably be an Audi RS1 or something... combined with a Passat Wagon for the other half
It will be interesting to see how the Scirocco compares to the Golf R in our market.
The 140kg weight advantage should see the Scirocco being faster in-gear than an equivalent Golf R.
Hopefully they may through in ACC and std leather trim to offset the AWD if they price match the GOlf R 3 dr.

hmm im not a fan of the rear at all either. however if VW revise the rear in the next generation and make it look as good as the front, it will be getting snapped up left right and centre.
this thread may as well be renamed to Scirocco?! lol.

I'd rather they leave ACC off - it's crap when it comes to driver feedback. I rather have the option of putting on coilovers of my choice.
