What do you think of these wheels as a potential upgrade?
I have 16" - these are 17's from a Jetta:
And an old reference photo of the current setup:
And while I'm posting pictures, took one this morning while waiting for the windscreen to become transparent again

Not too bad at all. What profile tyres are they though? I was thinking maybe the bigger wheels would also help with unwanted traction loss when trying to cross an intersection quickly.
I've read that some people have fitted them (with various tire sizes) and had rubbing issues.
I'm not really sure how different sized tyres fit on the same size wheel but that's why I'm not the expert. Must be a profile thing (so I'm guess no rubbing would then mean less comfortable ride).
I am about to make a purchase of a set of 18" Interlagos (offset 41) with 235/40/18 tires to replace my 205/55/16 stock wheels on my 2011 Canadian Golf TDI. However I am getting conflicting information about whether they will fit or not. The seller of the wheels tells me without a doubt they...
Mine are 205/55/R16 and I think the safe limit is 225 based on what I've read so far.Last edited by Ryan_R; 09-07-2012, 11:04 AM.

However, here's photos of a 103TDI running 19s - so it's clearly doable. Ride quality may be questionable however.

Well if anything I'd be looking for some of these (same design as your recommendation but 17x7.5)
Doubt I'd go any bigger than that.Last edited by The_Hawk; 24-04-2014, 11:24 AM.
