  • Official Golf MK6 Picture Thread - 2nd Edition - Discussion Thread

    Hey everyone,

This thread is the companion thread to the http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f112...ion-52637.html thread.

As the main pictures thread is LOCKED and cannot be posted in by forum members, you should post photos and discuss then within this Discussion thread. At regular intervals, one of the moderators will then COPY the posts containing photos into the main pictures thread.

This will allow people who wish to look at and discuss the photos the opportunity to do so, and allow the people who just want to look at photos without discussion the opportunity to do that as well.

    Have fun guys,
    Corey_R

Interesting way of implementing it, but much better than spamming the picture thread with off topic discussion. When I first started poking my nose around this forum I wanted to see some pictures and examples to help my with my decision of purchasing a Golf and thought the picture thread was a good place to start. First page was good with some pics, but then when you had to click next page 10 times to get to the next picture it was a bit of a let down.

I would have thought comments/compliments/critcism of what people post is fine for a picture thread, but when a discussion starts on paint protection, especially when there is already a thread on this topic a mod could have moved it to the appropriate place.

I must say now, the picture thread is great, a handy resource for those wanting to see MK6 pictures. And it will only get better as more people start receiving their R's and post more pics. I should be able to contribute some pictures of my new ride this weekend

      Anyway, thats my 2 cents.

You can't have a thread which "allows for comments" but not for discussion. Because if you have people making comments, there will invariably be questions, and then answers, and then someone with a different opinion. The paint protection (which was about many things, not just PPF) is just the latest of many many discussions which took place in that thread.

In any case, I'm not really asking for everyone's opinion on the subject. We'll try this and see how it goes. If this doesn't work, it'll just go back to the way it was before....

Agreed but man what a terrible time to pick up a car.

Roads were partically flooded on the way there, then it stopped and I was thinking awesome. By the time I got out, school traffic EVERYWHERE. damn 40 zones.

Love ACC too, steering feels nice and heavy in sport mode compared to the demo I drove without it.
