  • I have just ordered my R Tails from Germany. Now only having the car 3 weeks I'm tossing up whether to buy HPA SHS coilovers to decrease the ugly wheel to fender gap or get a tune.

    Hmmmmm tough decisions.

    • hmm.. mind blowing performance or your wheel gap sorted.. seems straight forward to me

      • I totally understand your point of view SilverFoxx however for me its not that easy!

I wouldn't say the tune will provide "mind blowing performance" but do know it will make a huge difference. Every time I see my car I'm repulsed by the ride height.

Previously I had a polo gti on coilovers so I'm used to that nice lowered stance.

          • *Update

After getting the 6hr APR trial during the week I have definitely decided to get the tune done first over coilovers.

The tune takes it from being pretty boring and bland to drive to much much more exciting and really fun to zip around in.

            • Personally I think you made the better choice, but everyone is entitles to what ever floats their boat. Hard to go back once you have had a taste of the potential. The same can be said for the suspension mods but your approach was for aesthetics only so the tune was always going to be the pick of the bunch

              • Very true Foxx. I was expecting you to be the first reply to my last post. Thanks for your input mate.

                • Thats why you are here.. to get feedback from others, not all of it is right nor suitable to you, but at least you are armed with experiences from those that have gone before you on which to form a more rounded view.

You don't have to please anyone but yourself, just weighing up your question it seemed the most "appropriate" given the choice.

Glad you have ventured out and are enjoying the dub ownership

Much better. The OEM GTI pedals match the silver trim bits on the GTI steering wheel and DSG shifter now.

                    • Looks much better with the aluminium pedals. Have you considered getting the OSIR dead pedal cover to finish it off? Sorry if ive just made you spend another $90........

                      • I've known about the dead pedal but tbh I don't think I'd really notice the dif thaaaat much in my car (already a fair bit of eye-candy inside). Those pedals were the needed finishing touch after getting the steering wheel. We'll see.

What boost gauge did you go with? I want a vent pod boost gauge, but seems like they only come in LHD, come seem to find a RHD for the golf mk 6 2.0 tsi gti.

                            • I believe Osir sell a vent pod for RHD vehicles for around the 50-60 mark.

I've merged your thread here. If you go to the top of the page and use the "Search Thread" option and search for "Boost Gauge", or even just "Gauge", you'll find lots of results. Cheers
