Had this problem on a new Ford Laser in 1982.....dealer just cleaned some grease of the window mechanism so presume that will be all that is required.
-
could be dead bugs or like me old v35 a common issue was an over-greased window guides/rail as car get used, humidity etc caused the grease to bleed.
if it's under warranty just try get dealer do it for you probably easier

ive noticed over the last few months an issue that i cant seem to find addressed anywhere else in these forums.
when i use my drivers side window, on the upswing it leaves several trail marks, like something has made itself a home in the recesses of my door and is smearing itself on the windows..... its not a big issue but it is really annoying......
is anyone else having this problem? hopefully when i take it in for a service the dealer will clean whatever is down there and seal it up properly (if thats the issue)

My first mod: Philips Crystal Vision Halogens for the dipped beams and parkers. Looks fantastic, comparing them to my mates new BMW, looks like the same colour temp.
The H8 for the fogs and H15's for the DRL are a little harder to source..
EDIT: 2nd mod, thinking about an APR Stage 1. Quoted $1525 for a basic ECU upgrade, $1695 for a complete tuning program. Muller and Muller Lakemba.Last edited by DEMIGODGTI; 29-10-2010, 11:05 AM.

Surprising that Germany has a lower standard speed yet has the unrestricted Autobahn, then again, they have ice and snow during winter.

Maybe this can help:Originally posted by rs73 View Postmight explain it for german cars, but on my wife's Toyota? are they making it european standard? anyone maybe can quickly check if Fords & Holdens had a red marker on 30 & 50 too...
Speed limits by country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
plus - 30km/h: local streets, school zone etc (at least Germany, Austria ....)Last edited by MIRSAD; 25-10-2010, 10:36 PM.

30 & 50 km/h are common urban area speed limits in Europa.Originally posted by rs73 View PostNoticed that "50" indicator on the speedo is marked red, and as well as "30" indicator...
ok, "50" is most build-up area speed limit in VIC, (and most other states) when there's no speed limit sign,
but what about "30" ??
why not "40" for most school zones?
weird?
oh and just noticed my wive's RAV4 also had 30 and 50 marked in red... Aust Design Rule requirement?

Yes tried that too Mr_Bob.Originally posted by Mr_Bob View Posthave you tried pushing down on the bonnet?
I've not had to do this on modern cars, but on previous cars, it was a 2man job to open the bonnet
(one to pull the lever while theother pushes down on the bonnet)
I'll have to wait till Tuesday to contact my dealership.
It's surprising how such a little 'issue' is pissing me off!
Really uncomfortable knowing there's something not quite right about your brand new 40k car...yea plus it's other irritable characteristics mentioned (countless time) on this forum - the tinny rattling noise and gearbox.

During the early 70's all the Jap cars I owned had floor mounted accelerators and my '77 Golf was the first car I owned with a top mounted accelerator and what a mongrel it was, with a heavy spring and being too far off the floor even for a person with big feet. Since then I have only had top mounted Jap cars again until this new Golf. I have no preference one way or the other - they both work well if set at the right angle, height and weight.Originally posted by Idle View PostWith the almost universal adoption of hydraulic controls, floor mounted brake (and clutch) pedals were fading away over half a century ago.
Floor mounted accelerator pedals remained because they work better and don't tire the driver's right foot.
Having driven many examples of both setups from about 1918 on (and even a few earlier than that), I can vouch that the change made sense.
