MK6 GTI - Rattle upon acceleration - Resolved via TPI: 2021062/7

Not yet, but mine will be due for it's first 15k service in the next month or so, so I'm going to call ahead tomorrow and try and find a dealership who can get the clip for me. Basically, first dealership in Brisbane who is accommodating gets the service and the fitting of the clip.

Yes I'm in Brisbane and have had the clip fitted. Norris Motor Group VW on Gympie Rd.

Just got my clip fitted yesterday, there is still rattling noise but the duration is much shorter than before. Not really fussed about it though

It took awhile for them to get them in also. I think I was the first person to get it done. They said they hadn't had too many customers request it.

I had my Golf done at JH at the start of October, so much better without the rattle.

Mine done on Thurday morning. Literally took them 45min to get it done. Watched it happen through the glass. Car on the hoist, and bang.. All done.

Result - better, but not 100% gone. The tech did advise technically speaking this is still only a temp fix.

Denlo Parra. I know one of the head mechanics there so he got me in first. Queue is around 110 GTI's though.

Another success story, the clip works beautifully. You can hear the faintest whisper of the first half-second of the rattle at around 3000rpm half-throttle in 2nd. But i would never pick that up if i wasnt listening intensively with my windows down and trying to create situations that would produce the sound.

The car now sounds like it was intended to sound... no more tractor rattle!

Rattle is gone, and you can hear a nice turbo Whoooosh as it spools up....didnt realise it made that noise before due to the rattlin

dropped off the GTI at Barloworld Glen Waverly this morning to get the clip done, got the new Passat as a courtesy car - its damn comfy!

update: clip installed - noise gone completely, sounds so good now! i'm stoked - thanks to all those who helped with getting this issue sorted!

on a more sour note.. during the warranty repair on my RHD window tint the tinter screwed up my window control switch, so now my window is stuck on CLOSED till they get a new switch delivered in from Sinagapore.. only way that I can operate the window is if I use the key (i.e. hold unlock/lock). so frustrating! they fix one thing and break another lol.. to make it worse i was the one to discover that the window wasn't operable after getting out of the dealership and having to return, they didn't even test it!! end rant/.

First off, thanks to team_v for pointing me to this thread.

Picked my MY12 Jetta 147TSI a couple of weeks. Discovered the rattle a week later. Didn't think much about it for a couple of days coz I had the music turned up most of the time. Then drove around one day without music and the rattle was really annoying!

Booked my car in for an inspection next week. I'm sure it's the same problem as described by everyone! Hopefully the temp fix (clip) works with my car!
